Unfit for Command is not listed on any of their best-selling book lists!
They may not register those sales until the book actually starts shipping next week.
It also depends on which list(s) you are referring to.
Published/printed lists are usually about a week behind actual sales---they need time to collect and compile the data.
Most Best seller lists only list actual sales once the book is published. And even then, sales figures may only reflect the week before.
I don't think its a big conspiracy.
The book hasn't come out yet. Amazon registers "bestsellers" because you can pre-purchase the book, thereby making it a "bestseller" in their eyes. The NYT Book Review does not consult internet sites when compiling their list. They only consult stores.
OK, that's what's probably going on. I haven't finished my coffee yet, maybe I should wait until I'm awake before I post again!
Space Quest?
Amazon and Barnes and Nobles rankings are based on Pre-sales. The book isn't in the stores yet.
The book was on the newly released table right as you come in the door in my Borders last night. Then as I was buying the book about the character of George Bush, the clerk told me that Unfit for Command was in and where to find it.
Really? I ordered it from amazon about three weeks ago so mine should be coming any day. Can't wait...In the meantime, let us know how it is!!
General Tommy Franks' book is going to be listed as #1 on the NY Times Bestseller List within the next week or so.

Hopefully, after this book's been out for a couple of weeks, the Sh*t will REALLY hit the fan!
And stores will be "displaying" it among the "stacks", edge on. As opposed to the three or five front, cover on, display for the books of The Impeached One, and of the Liar in Chief wanna be.

Like you I ordered mine from Amazon and won't get it for at least another week.
