It was a great day in the leftist stronghold of Santa Monica, CA as a contingent of true Americans, led by the FReepers, defended America's honor and came face to face with human scum.
The President and Mrs. Bush along with Arnold made a visit to Santa Monica this afternoon. Ah, yes, Santa Monica, CA. The city with rent control and regulations that would have made an Eastern Bloc Soviet stooge proud. The city with homeless peeing on the sidewalks. The city whose business policies are trying to run business out of town. In California, it is Berkeley South.
We surprised the scumbags today with a force of several hundred on their home turf. They were there to protest the commander in chief and had no idea that RonDog would be all over this thing organizing behind the scenes via FReepmail.
They were so predictible. Silly signs of No Blood for Oil, Bush Knew About 911, War Is not the Answer, Bush/Cheney Mass Murderers. Even the nitwits from Code Pink were there with a big banner hanging from a building. I did not see a Free Mumia, but that might have been there too. It usually is. I don't think I saw any women carrying a sign saying I WANT TO HAVE MICHAEL MOORE'S BABY.
Our side had great chants: Hey hey, ho ho, a cowboy not a gigolo; Hanoi John Hanoi Jane, both of you should be ashamed; Kerry/Edwards, here's the door, Bush and Cheney in '04; Mrs. Kerry go away, we'll take Laura any day. Only once did I use -- Last night Kerry celebrated, his wife had been medicated.
I had the great pleasure of working the bullhorn for awhile until I started to get a little hoarse.
Of the FReepers I saw were Vic from Long Beach, rockitz, joyangela, RonDog, jessamine, and doodlelady. Others please check in.
We met down the street at Coco's afterwards and had a huge group of loyal Republicans adding to the FReeper contingent. There might have been fifty of us at Coco's.
And then, came the highlight of the evening. A guy saw a few motorcycles and a few SS guys with earplugs talking into their wrists (I embellished that). He yelled -- HERE COMES THE PRESIDENT.
Yes, the motorcade was going to go right by Coco's. We all got up to run outside, and I assured the waiter that we were not running out on our checks and would be back. We are not DemocRATS, after all.
It was great. We saw Laura and then saw Dubya waving to a big group of us with banners and signs.
We took some time to introduce ourselves to the rest of the group and, not surprisingly, I had a message in verse:
We're the good guys, it's easy to tell
From the other side, there was a smell
Michael Moore is a pig
We will win this thing big
Mrs. Kerry, FOUR MORE YEARS OF HELL!
The other side was obnoxious and smelly. They really are different than us. They hear soundbites and are absolutely clueless.
Ted Hayes is a great American. He is a former DemocRAT who saw the light and knows that the GOP is the party that freed blacks and is the party of opportunity. We are the side that is standing up for American in the War on Terror. Good luck to Ted's daughter. She is representing us in the Olympics, I think he said as a 100-meter hurdler. She is world class and has a genuine shot at a gold.
During the event, I got through to Hugh Hewitt, and Hugh was pleased that we have a big group there to oppose the leftist scum (my words, not Hugh's).
Others who attended, add your comments.
I loved meeting you J.A. and wish you could have been there, Ros42. I probably saw Bunny Slippers and will be working out of the Pico HQ also (as soon as I pick up supplies tonight).
Doug, I LOVED your Report, and RonDog, I LOVED those pictures! God bless you fine Americans!
The first thing I noticed were W signs. I didn't notice the left too much. It was the right that stood out, to me.
YOU SHOULD FEEL GOOD! YOU guys were awesome. I noticed that LA for BUSH right away. Since I'm on your side, of course I looked for the Kerry people and felt I had to LOOK for them rather than see them.
One more Freeper there, SoCalPol
Duh. Sorry. I knew you were there.
Thanks for the report Doug. Thanks to all of the west coast FReepers.
Doug, great report! You said it all so perfectly!!
It is wonderful that President Bush and Laura were
able to see the waving banners and smiling faces as they left.
I heard a couple of lone Kerry supporters freak as they saw us emerge on Coco's corner and the motorcade approached. "Go get our guys!" they yelled.
Ah, too bad they were missed it.
America is a Blessed Nation.
drats, typo! :)
I'm still tired from the excitement of
yesterday! I'm sure all those who worked
so hard to put this together feel the same, and
I just showed up to wave a flag!
Thank you to everyone who put this together.
President Bush was in town yesterday!
Some pictures are posted, and more on the way.
I am impressed with how many cars honked in
approval and waved the thumbs-up for President Bush
and the American Flag!
And this was in Santa Monica!
...with DOZENS of photographs from this amazing rally - soon.Perhaps by Sunday night...
Does your jaw hurt from all the grinning?
Nice job California! Thanks.
Is-That-Your-Work?-Ping!
great job to everyone involved. looks like you had quite a crowd!! keep up the good work and God bless you all!!
Thanks, Doug :o) How have you been, anyway?
Hi, there, BunnySlippers, I think you and I met at a freep during the Florida recount in Southern Cal, but I don't remember. Hope to see you in the future :o)
I hope to see you soon, Rondog :o) This next 2 and 1/2 months will be crucial for our Republic!
Thanks, I've been just fine and extremely busy. I hope to finally pick up my new book tomorrow -- A CHILD'S EYE VIEW OF JOHN KERRY. It mocks him mercilessly from a child's perspective.
Taxman Bravo Zulu!
I have not had the priviledge of reading one of your books. Where can I find them?
