On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?
I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.
I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.
Comments and suggestions?
Bob J, Scarborough, Hannity and O'reilly are not liberals.
Truth & communications win over socialism. The advent of the fax machine helped lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
They can't compete with the efforts of diligent patriots & modern day internet + talk radio + FNC.
The best thing to do is to help efforts now underway, it appears, to construct a timeline of January & February 1989 for John Kerry calendar & see if it precludes the box they've just placed themselves into.
They've already had to admit the key event in John Kerry's life was a fraudulent, phony story. The way this story broke this week, with the hat story out on Laura Ingraham as quickly as possible, caught them offguard and they were left periless to the Swiftie charges (courteousy of crushKerry website).
There are a reasonable number of days left to compete against this menace (liberalism combined with propaganda media). Already people everywhere outright laugh at the idea of Hanoi John French Kerry tromping around the jungle at night he can't see with a compass he can't read, a boat he can't navigate and an imaginary CIA guy with his same hat size.
The veil has been pierced. The truth drew blood.
Now let the real games begin!
Now there is a suggestion that has merit.
>>while our attention is diverted the real enemy steals the store.<<
You just hit the ball out of the park, Bob. Bingo!
IMHO, it's because we usually let the libs set the agenda. They're always one step ahead of us because they 1) Make up the rules and 2) They play dirty.
The Swift Boat heroes are turning the tables on them this time and they're beside themselves with angst. I say we continue to support those brave men 200%! Then we line up REPUBLICAN LAWYERS to monitor the elections because it's going to be a bloodbath if we don't.
And btw, this also drives me absolutely crazy sometimes.
A two party system works in our favor. Each peddles to the middle to win so all one has to do is move the middle in their direction to change the culture.
I'm not sure I understand the point.
how do lies and bias matter?
Tell me, how do 3rd partiers plan to influence the outcome of the game when they are always on the sidelines? Or in the stands?
I have no 'plans', okie, just as I have no party. I'd support the GOP, if they could support even `some~ of the principles of the RLC. -- Fat chance.
Why should we have to work that hard to get the truth out?
Yep, you don't know, tex. -- Dream on.
?? what?? I didn't do it, that Freeper did it.
Saw two bulls squaring off today in a field in Sonoma county. To the winner goes making all the new baby cows. As the younger bull, conservatives must take this fight seriously and defeat the 'older bull', as his time is fleeting. Then and only then, will 'new' stock begin to appear.
The media will fall in line (to save their butts) with new praise for conservative ideals. "Check out this emporer's clothes!" Media whores dress the part, a Bush win in November may be the tetonic event needed to bring about a change in fashion (ideology) not seen in a long, long time.
Your saying the media is liberal. I'm saying there are plenty of conservative shows John O'neil can go on.
I saw him on Scarborough, Hannity interviewed him.
Would it be easier if we balanced the media so our position got out to the masses on a daily basis via TV, radio and print?
Whoa! Mathews had credibility?
That's a stretch.
