Kerry's Reverse: He can't both deplore and support war
The Dallas Morning News ^ | August 12, 2004 | Staff

John Kerry's position on the Iraq war is like the weather in North Texas: If you don't like it, stick around, because it'll change before too long.

On Monday, a reporter asked Mr. Kerry if he had known in 2002 that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, would he still have voted to give the president authority to wage the war. "Yes, I would have voted for the authority," the Democrat said. "I believe it was the right authority for a president to have."

Now hold on. In his convention speech, Mr. Kerry said that protecting the country "from a threat that was real and imminent" is "the only justification for going to war."

I was thinking of Kerry as a fair weather friend. He's your friend as long as it is politically expedient...

The Bible says, "A double-minded man is unstable in
all his ways" (James 1:8). It fits hanoi john to a T, he's unstable.

Well he called the Vietnam war "the biggest nothing in history," and then based a Presidential campaign on his participation in it. So I would say yes, he can have both it ways.

Kerry reminds me of Golman in Lord of the Rings when the two parts of him are arguing about what to do.

If the Dallas Morning News is pointing this out, it's really getting bad for Kerry. Even a biased press can't cover for his constantly shifting positions.

I look upon this as great news. There has to be a reason why he has changed his mind. Could it be, that despite all the press coverage to the contrary, the country is really solidly behind President Bush and what he has done with the war on terror, and our lying senator is just responding to the polls?

Oh, ffs. If the American elect him as President, we (and I mean the free world, as well as the not-so-free - read: Iraq, etc) are in a whole big ****pile of trouble.

And sadly, all I can do from here is infulence my American friends via email... trouble with that being, most of the American friends I still talk to will be voting Republican anyway, so I'm preaching to the converted.

And, I still have the Australian election to worry about... whenever that may be. I've half a mind to write to Jogn Howard (our PM) and tell him what this prevarication is doing to those of us who are both political and who suffer from anxiety disorders...

The best cure for this "political impotence", at least that I've found so far, is getting drunk... and THEN posting. The trouble is that you wake up the next morning, and someone has made a response to something your wrote, whether eloquent or utterly vile, AND YOU CAN'T REMEMBER WRITING THE ORIGINAL POST... scary!)

Cheers, m'dears, and more beers (hey, it's 8.30pm here. Why not?),
Peri

For anyone who can be in Cambodia, on a secret mission, with a Swift Boat, dropping off CIA agents, in 1968, with Kmer Rouge shooting at him, while President Nixon is lying about it - and yet NOT BE IN CAMBODIA, anything is simple. Anything at all. Kerry is master of time and space.

The way Dems operate is -- They take turns --- one of them comes up with something outrageous like:

"We need to ban bulldozers from the earth."

And then the rest of them nod their heads in utizen and get in the group-think mode. The NY Times puts it on page one, talking points are faxed, the internet chat is non-stop, the media runs story after story, Congress has hearings, and, soon, bulldozers are banned.

Then a prize is awarded to the originator at a black-tie event and the pro-bulldozer crowd is forever hated.

I have it figured out. The days and nights that JFKerry sports "BLUE or GREEN" eyes, he supports the WAR in Iraq, and the days and nights he sports his natural BLACK/BROWN eyes, he is against the WAR!

I just realized. We have uncovered the greatest cover-up conspiracy in history. WOW! The truth finally come out.

The great conspiracy revelation: Nixon was secretly serving as the President in December 1968, and we didn't know it. Only John Kerry knew the truth. LBJ must have secretly retired to the ranch with Lady Byrd. Who'd'a'thunk'it?

Textbooks are being re-written as we read this. Conspiracy-ists are elated at a new conspiracy. You read it first here, Folks.

lol.

It's frustrating to see the media continue to make the same "imminent" mistake:

Yet now he tells us that even if he had known that the principal rationale for the Iraq war – the claim that there was a real and imminent danger from Iraqi WMDs –

"Yeah... its called the Massachusetts Two Step."

Oooh, I love to dance a little sidestep,
Now they see me, now they don’t, I’ve come and gone.
And, oooh, I love to sweep around the wide step,
Cut a little swath and lead the people on.
