Why can't these people use their REAL identification dammit!
Mexican drivers licenses are PERFECTLY LEGAL in the US. Remember for every illegal there is an active Social Security Account Number fraud or theft of a citizen's Social Security Account Number! Everyday they wake up they commit another fraud.

Please tell me How they are going to vote with a yellow tinted license that is emblazoned with MEXICAN CITIZEN on it.

In San Francisco the Board of Supervisors is moving to allow voting for non-citizens

Of course it's being challenged. That's exactly what I meant by "the howling from the advocates". Tennessee's AG office expected this recourse to liberal courts and is getting it's ducks in a serious row for the counterattack:

"If the plaintiffs are legal immigrants, their rights aren't being violated by being asked to get certificates because they have access to other legitimate immigration identification. Only illegal immigrants would have the right to sue the state over the law, the state argues. But if the plaintiffs are illegal immigrants, the suit should be thrown out because they don't have the right to get a license or state identification anyway."

Just look at the ridiculous language of the advocate's, er, reporter's article:

She was among plaintiffs in a lawsuit...that claims the state's unique new law ''exhibit(s) a deliberate indifference'' to the constitutional rights of immigrants and Hispanics and a ''pervasive pattern'' of discriminatory actions in day-to-day operations at driver's license offices.

Illegal aliens don't have Constitutional rights and it's the Driver's License Office's job to be "discriminatory" - discriminatory between legal and illegal. Their record will stand to prove they don't tolerate racial discrimination in any form.

"Despite their assertion that homeland security is a compelling interest, I think their real reason for this law is that they don't like illegal aliens getting driver's licenses," said Gonzalez.

I'm glad he's not my attorney. Homeland security was THE compelling interest that motivated our Democrat governor to promote this law against the wishes of his cohorts. Is this clown expecting us to be ashamed of withholding licenses from people who should be deported? But wait, he's got more pratfalls in store...

Gonzalez cited another plaintiff who sought a state ID for her 8-year-old Mexican-born son as an example. Minors are eligible for state IDs, Gonzalez said.

Stop it, Gonzo the Clown; you're going to make me bust a stitch! Only minors born in the U.S. can receive those IDs; it's against the law otherwise. I bet the clerk rightly told her that the young man is perfectly eligible for a similar ID issued by the Mexican government. Just like his mom and all of Gonzo's other "defendants" are eligible for Mexican driver's licenses.

"They have the burden of showing that this really addresses homeland security. And they haven't."

Actually they don't. He has the burden of proving why illegal aliens should receive driver's licenses when the state has gone out of it's way to provide a viable (and totally undeserved) alternative. I hope he gets fined royally for wasting the court's time and resources. As far as the LEO traffic stop ID standards go the illegal aliens will have Gonzales to thank for the inevitably tighter standards that will result.

Gonzo is also available for birthday parties and other special occasions.

So who is winning, the illegals or you?

"The illegals."

So outsiders are coming into your state illegally and outsmarting and otherwise besting you and those who are like minded.

Here's something to consider: the *losers* in a fight have to make more compromises than the winners.

So what in this fight are you willing to compromise.

If nothing, then expect to continue losing. If the best that you can do is simply to get mad, then you probably aren't going to achieve many victories in the future.

"Why are you referring to these licenses as "yellow tinted"? Have you seen a prototype of what they would look like?"

See post #54 for an example of Tennessee's illegal alien driver's license. That's the closest that I've seen to a California prototype. I'd hate to think that your version would be less obvious than their version. Surely Californians are at least as competent as Tennesseans.

Thanks. I thought that maybe California DMV officials had released some "concept" designs as to what their "Illegal Alien driver's license" might look like should a law be passed allowing illegal aliens to acquire one. I agree that whatever it ends up looking like, that it should stand out from a regular driver's license in a very conspicuous way.

Governor Arnold is NOT a conservative, but we all know that. He ran on the issue of bringing California out of the brink of bankruptcy. He has brought businesses back and kept some from leaving. First things first--

If he can push California voters to vote Republican, that's a big plus. Can you imagine CA in the Bush column?

LOL! To see the words "Tennesseans" and "competent" in the same sentence is a shock. Now look at this and repeat after me:

It was just a bad dream."

I don't think they are outsmarting us, per-se. The monied folks (mostly by limosuine libs here in CA) who want these folks to clean their pools and mow their lawns and watch their kids for $1.50/hour, simply have more money to bribe the lawmakers. Oh, and they fund "you're a racist" muckrakers to scare the hell out of any politician who dare pass a common sense law too.

This isn't about who is smarter or besting anyone. Whoever bribes the most ... wins.

The US government is supposed to be about doing what's right, not selling legislation to the highest bidder. So if that's being bested, so be it. I'm not sure that I want to take part in the whoring of our state, local, and federal government.

Here's something to consider: the *losers* in a fight have to make more compromises than the winners.

And he who has the most money wins. Remember that next time you buy a movie ticket, a Barbara Streisand CD, or a product advertised on a major network.

So what in this fight are you willing to compromise.

In order to win this fight, I would have to comprimise my entire faith in the Local and Federal Government, and organize a corruption effort that exceeds the corruption effort that is underway on the opposite side. Basically, you are asking me to compromise my Patriotism, Morals, and relinquish all belief that the government will do what is right for the people.

Maybe at some point, I will do that. I was kind of hoping I wouldn't have to, however.

If nothing, then expect to continue losing.

I will concede that I have not bribed a public official today. Maybe tomorrow.

I suppose I could also get my camcorder and tape an anti-illegal-immigration message. You think any major network would run it, or newspaper publish it?

I've been writing letters, and i've been voting. You know, the "traditional" vehicles for effecting change.

I will concede that this form of civic action is antiquated, and no longer efficient in what has changed from a democracy to a bribeocracy. I just don't have as much money as Steven Speilberg. I simply cannot afford his level of access.

If the best that you can do is simply to get mad, then you probably aren't going to achieve many victories in the future.

Well, i'm not into militia stuff, so what do you suggest?

Try to raise money to line someone's pockets? And who's pockets?

Last I check both Bush, Kerry, Shwartzenegger and Davis were pretty much pro-immigration. And if I vote for a 3rd party, I throw my vote away (at least that's why they tell me).

I'm open to ideas. Got any?

"I'm open to ideas. Got any?"

Yes. I'd suggest political jujitsu.

Give your superior opponents (remember, they are beating you so they must be superior in some manner or another) precisely what they ask for in those areas in which doing so won't give them what they *really* want. You know, on issues where they *say* they want one thing but in reality truly want something else.

...Like driver's licenses. Liberals in California aren't actually concerned about driver's licenses for illegals. Their *actual* desire is to grant every legal priviledge in existence to illegals, and driver's licenses would be a clever smoke screen towards that goal if only Conservatives played dumb and let the licenses be identical to those for *legal* residents.

Make those licenses *different* for illegals than for legal residents, however, and you've given your liberal opponents what they *said* that they wanted without giving them their real goal.

See Post #54 to see how conservatives in Tennessee did this precise thing.

Now, you good people out in California are at least as clever as those in Tennessee...so go practice some clever political jujitsu.

If you do this as well as Tennesseans did, then your state will begin compiling an actual database of *registered* illegal aliens...something that will burn your liberal opponents to the nth degree.

Give them their driver's licenses in a way that burns them.

Now we can hoot an holler about what nonsense it is to create a legal document for illegals, but that misses the point.

It is EXACTLY the point.

BTW who is the "we" Southack? It certainly isn't you since you aren't a California resident.

While I'm on the subject it should be obvious to all that I'm fed up with out-of-state Republican loyalist showing up on the California Topic trying to convince newbies that some how surrendering conservative principals is necessary to incrementally advance conservative principals. That may fly in Alabama but it don't cut it in California. The voters tried that last November and now look at the mess the state is in. Higher taxes, increased spending and increased indebtedness.

I'll promise to stay completely out of Alabama politics if you'll stay closer to home. Please go harass the conservatives on the Texas Topic.

The conservatives in California have been beaten so badly that you need, no *require*, outside help.

Illegal aliens have come into your state from foreign lands and handily beaten you people like a drum in local, county, and state politics on your own home turf. You're down 24 to 3 in the 4th quarter, in football terms.

You've lost the skills of winning and retained only the dubious talents of getting mad and criticizing good advice.

No thanks. Just prefer you give advice and help a little closer to home.

Maybe there's a state along the lower Mississippi who'd like an Austrian citizen for their next governor. He didn't do to well out west but you can blame it on the Mexicans. They consumed his free infrastructure and exported their wages before he could tax them.

Why do you find that interesting? I went over the entire 75 replies and only about half make sense! The rest is some kinda martial arts fantasy stuff to make losing permanent instead of actually changing anything for the better.

Consider yourself fortunate!!!

If you aren't winning at the political level, then your views aren't going to make government policy.

If you vote for people who say they are one of you and are with you and then stab you in the back after you vote for them, whose fault is that?
