***Fact: In 25 Years It Will Be Washington, Lincoln And Bush 43***
Stardate: 0408.11

Posted on 08/11/2004 7:08:05 AM PDT by The Wizard

And that's the REAL reason the demonrats hate GWB: not only is he everything they hoped billyboy would be, he will be remembered for planting the seeds that grew into peace to the Middle East.....

Washington was the Father of our country, and Lincoln freed the slaves, and GWB started the journey that will eventually bring peace to this troubled part of the world, and the rats hate him for it, so much so, that I wouldn't put ANYTHING past them.......

The real democrats, who controlled the party when Tip was the Man, lost control to the clintonistas, and he was so bad, the party regulars fled as the goon squad came in to defend their leader......

But as I sat watching Rummy from Afgahistan today speaking about 9 million folks so hungry to vote they risk their lives to register, it told any logical man that so it will be in Iraq, and all the other kingdoms throughout the world.....

The time of kings is over, now is the time of the little man, and he never had a stronger, braver friend than Ronald Reagan or GWB......

While not asking for this honor, GWB had it blown up on him on 9-11, and the world will be a safer, better place when this is done.

God Bless and protect GWB....

I'm not sure why you are invoking lightning here. This guy holds a view of Lincoln that may be a minority view but it is not that uncommon here. Lincoln expanded the power of the federal government at the expense of states' sovereignty. Most of us around here are aware that the Civil War was fought over States' Rights and Sovereignty much more than it was fought over slavery. I don't think this guy has said anything zotworthy.

No, but the situation of the colonies in 1776 wasn't like the one of the Southern States. For example, they did have representation.

Abraham Lincoln did the correct. The Confederates were rebels and didn't represent the principles of the Founding Fathers.

I do believe that he saw the damage he did as regrettable and undertaken only under necessity - I do not believe that he wilfully did mischief for its own sake.

Lincoln had good intentions and thought he was doing what was right; evidently, many others thought so too. That's why I think he was so damaging to this country. It's easy to garner strong support when people believe in the nobility of a particular cause, but foresight isn't 20/20. As it turned out, there was nothing noble about destroying states' rights and dismantling our constitutional republic.

I hold my views strongly and honestly -- and I've defended them like the Swift Boat guys will defend theirs.

If that has offended anyone, forgive me. I'm not a troll and not out to offend anyone -- especially on America's side.

In reality, this Civil War discussion is so much intellectual chess playing. It's long over and only good for debate. This country is where it is now and *IS* my country. I have no desire to see the "South" rise again or any such nonsense, though I would like to see the States rise, but that is another issue.

I think it's best if I go back to my other threads. Not leaving this site and I hope that I've not violated any rules here -- I like this site a lot in its format and intelligence (so far anyway).

I agree with you, hence I haven't commenced to "Zot".

Lincoln had to do what he felt was Devine intervention. I ask the kids, what was the civil war all about, the schools teach slavery, so the kids responded slavery. I had to correct them.

It was about states rights. Slavery wasn't an issue, and never was. Slavery was already on the downfall with the mass production of the combine and the cotton gin. Abe Lincoln wasn't against slavery, he was against new slave states.

You haven't broken any rules...you just came across pretty strong for being new.

Most "newbies" usually lurk before posting comments.

Have a good time, learn a few things and throw in your opinions. We need the new thoughts.

I guess I see it as I'm not new to the internet and not shy about sharing my views. :)

I daresay more people would agree with me about Lincoln than would about a couple of other issues that I won't open up right now. :)

Abe Lincoln wasn't against slavery, he was against new slave states.

And the South wasn't Pro-Slavery, per se; it was Pro-Choice. They pretty much took the position "If you don't like slavery, don't own any slaves. But don't tell the Southern states that they can't choose to allow slavery."

Exactly. Follow the MO:

First day posting, and comes out breathing flames designed to curry favor among the government non-trusters;

Immediately starts in with the regional antagonism designed to ruffle feathers and wake up the Stars-and-Bars crowd;

And blends into the mix, the "America Invaded a Foreign Country" angle - wait a few posts for the inevitable tie-in to Iraqi Freedom, and changing Blue & Gray to Brownshirts & Jackboots.

Don't waste your questionnaire, CG: He's hit all the markers.

If his stay is brief, they half of the members will also be gone and the F should be removed from FR.

Aha! Was that the "troll test"???

:)

Well considering the animated GIF I posted was of my own design, I'll let you figure out if I thought they were funny.

KERRY IS A BONEHEAD WHO BETRAYED HIS FELLOW SOLDIERS and us UNWORTHY to be Senator, let alone President.

Yes, they were funny and I thought my own one was too.
