In an interview this morning on Fox and Friends, Kerry spokeman Jeh Johnson backed off of Democrat presidential nominee Senator John Kerry's repeated statements that he had spent Christmas 1968 on a secret mission in Cambodia.
Fox's Brian Kilmead asked Mr. Johnson whether Sen. Kerry would release the action report from January 20, 1969 regarding purported action in Cambodia.
Mr. Johnson said, "I believe you're referring to an incident that happened near Cambodia. Okay, well John Kerry has said on the record that he had a mistaken recollection earlier. He talked about a combat situation on Christmas Eve, 1968, which at one point he said occurred in Cambodia. He has since corrected the record to say it was someplace on a river near Cambodia and he is certain that at some point subsequent to that he was in Cambodia. My recollection, my understanding is he was not certain about that date.
Mr. Kilmead brought up Sen. Kerry's 1986 floor speech in the Senate where he talked about spending Christmas in Cambodia as being "seared---seared" in his memory.
Mr. Johnson replied, "I believe he's corrected the record to say it was someplace near Cambodia, but he is not certain whether it was actually in Cambodia but he is certain that there was some point subsequent to that that he was in Cambodia."
Mr. Johnson also repeated Sen. Kerry's canard that he left Yale in 1966 and turned down all options to further his education by choosing to serve his country. As was (barely) reported in March of this year, Sen. Kerry asked for and was denied a one year deferment to study in Paris.
I'm hoping someone will have mercy on my ignorance. I'm sure I'm not the only one (who is ignorant). :) It would be a good history lesson for FReepers.
You go ahead and accept Kerry's 4th explanation and remember to get a glass of Kool-Aid. He said Christmas Eve 1968. He testified to it. He said Nixon was President. It is impossible, Nixon was not President! Everyone has stated they never entered Cambodia, including people of his own boat. If he entered alone then they would have had a search party because they would have thought he might have been captured. Well then again, they may not have looked very hard. There is more proof, read for yourself.
For several years, the dems have had the people in their pocket. The parsing, the lies, the fear tactics, the dumbing down of the masses, is calculated! Clinton is a master of it. Kerry is riding in on that sinking ship! Finally the people have risen up. The evil ones are bewildered and confused. I see a seachange! It won't be easy, but great persistance is demanded as never before. Their motto has been, how do we win over the fools to get votes? It has worked, but no more!
Kerry's own flack, Jeh Johnson, came out with a squishy non-denial denial on FNC this morning. What more do you need?
OK. Look at all these guys. And tell me which one might stand out a little if he was wondering around Cambodia.
I don't need any Kool-Aid. Kerry's own statements and diary contradict him. And Kerry brought all this scrutiny on himself by making contradictory statements. I just want to know more.
Oh no. The worst thing about this besides the lies and slander, is that he'll get away with it.
Trust me the truth is still being dug. Check this one out and throw money in the equation. It may help answer some questions you may have?
Here's the real movie plan about Kerry which he would receive Royalties for?
George Butler is a New Hampshire Film Maker and a long time friend with Kerry. He made such films as "Pumping Iron". Butler is currently making a film about Kerry's experiences in Vietnam, called "Going up River", expected to hit theatres this September. He is now suing The Vietnam Vets Against Kerry for unauthorized use of photos. This is one reason Kerry's campaign is against this book because it will blow his cover and bring questions to this films accuracy. This is a quote from Butler on WHDH TV Boston, Aired 7/21/2004.
"Everything John Kerry said about Vietnam applies to Iraq as well. So there's a message in the film that's very interesting film indeed."

I think Kerry sticks out like a sore thumb most anywhere. He's an awkward lookin' fella. Anywho, we all know now that he was given a green camouflage "lucky" hat to wear while in Cambodia. It made him invisible. :) Other white males were in Cambodia. Why not Kerry?
lol, good one
White males were on the sunny side of the moon too.

I don't understand it either. As his mother in law, I try and not get pushy, you know? He is very conservative, but his parents are from India, and lived in CT, and have always voted for the dems. They are very well to do, so do they think socialists will keep them in that lifestyle?
Someone sent me an e-mail that claimed that Kerry could not get into grad school, thus the year studying in Paris was his only hope of avoiding the draft. So, he joined the Navy. His grades were reportedly a low C average, lower than GW Bush's grades.
I don't think you're quite getting the drift here...
In 1968 there were officially NO Americans in Cambodia... it was illegal for them to be there. If an American showed up in Cambodia it would have been a major international incident.
Since we couldn't be in Cambodia, I don't think anyone would be taking a loud, large American boat up the river "5 miles inside Cambodia". It would be too obvious and it would have never made it back. The border was crawling with VC and Cambodians.
Thanks. Were we ever "officially" in Cambodia? Or was all of our activity there "unofficial?"
I just remembered that all draft age young men were ordered to take a test in the fall of 1965 to see if they were smart enough to be in college, and if you didn't take the test you were immediately made draft elligible and ordered not to leave the country. Maybe this figured into the Kerry request being turned down. The test was later declared unconstitutional or something, but my husband still managed to get caught up in it, as he was out of the country in 1965/66.
It is my recollection that we were never "officially" in Cambodia, but there are others that can answer that better.

I wonder if Mrs. Kerry-Heinz believes anything he says about anything. That was some whopper about the woman in Africa.
Are they throwing rice at Kerry when he makes an appearance?
