NEXT TIME John Kerry accuses President Bush of misleading the American people, remember Mary Ann Knowles.
Knowles is the Hudson woman whose battle with breast cancer Kerry has turned into a campaign anecdote. Here is what Kerry said about Knowles during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention on July 29:
What does it mean when Mary Ann Knowles, a woman with breast cancer I met in New Hampshire, had to keep working day after day right through her chemotherapy, no matter how sick she felt, because she was terrified of losing her familys health insurance? America can do better. And help is on the way.
What it means is that John Kerry is fibbing. As Union Leader correspondent Scott Brooks reported on Sunday, Mary Ann Knowles did not have to work through her chemotherapy for fear of losing her health insurance. Employed by Elderhostel, the Boston-based non-profit travel organization for people 55 and older, Mary Ann had 26 weeks of paid disability at her disposal. More was available for a long-term illness. She did not have to work through her chemotherapy. She chose to.
Knowles would have lost some income had she taken the disability leave, said her husband, who is unemployed. But she would not have lost her health insurance, as Kerry has repeatedly misstated.
Asked if the Kerry campaign bothered to get the details of Knowles personal story, spokeswoman Judy Reardon said Kerrys use of the words every day in describing Knowles story was a colloquialism. She went on: When a woman has a mastectomy and goes through therapy, I dont need to double-check on her.
In other words, Kerry knowingly used the words every day when he did not mean every day, and he used the phrase: she still has to go to work every day just to hang on to their health insurance when she did not have to work every day and was in no danger of losing her health insurance.
In short, he lied. Repeatedly.
With all that has come to light about Kerrys voting record and his Vietnam service, his misrepresentation of Marry Ann Knowles story should surprise few. Kerry cannot even get his own personal history straight, so how can we expect him to correctly relay someone elses?

1-6-04 should read 1-6-02...oops!
My Father was a lifer in the Army and served in WWII and two tours in Korea, he retired in 1962 and spent a lot of time raising me and my younger brother. I remember like yesterday when John Kerry testified to the Senate in 1971, My father would call John Kerry a Traitor every time he saw him on the TV. My Cousin was still recovering from his wounds and said many times that John Kerry needed to be Fragged for what he did when he smeared every person in uniform with his lies to the Senate.
My family has a long history of despising John Kerry, My Cousin says he knows quite well why John Kerry doesn't visit our wounded troops or our active duty troops, it's because John Kerry is a puke and he would not be welcomed.
The fact is that the Swift Boat Vets are quite correct when they say John Kerry is "Unfit to Command"
Sorry for the rant, I just felt the need to vent over my deep dislike of John Kerry
*Sneer*
Thanks for the rant. I strongly dislike this guy. More than Al Gore even. Not more than Clinton, but if Kerry wins (God forbid), I could probably grow to dislike him more.
He is a liar, he's a jerk with zero charisma, he's a fraud, he spit on his fellow veterans and he probably walks over graves and steps on cracks.
Are you jealous of my youth :-)
You damn straight I am.
But the rest of your story touches my heart. And I am sure you have seen my postings about why I feel so bad about allowing myself to maybe, perhaps be influenced by what Kerry said.
He is not fit to run a pop stand, I understand his ilk thoroughly. No need for being sorry, your dues have been paid.
His Book "The New Soldier" was another slap in the face to our Country and later as a U.S. Senator visiting with Ortega in an attempt to prop up another enemy of ours, as well as undermine Ronald Reagan's efforts to spread freedom in South America, is simply inexcusable.
John Kerry has spent most of his life defending our enemies, undermining our National Security and consistently voting to cut the Military, and now all he wants to talk about is his 132 days in Vietnam, I'm sorry, but just the thought of it pisses me off. I hope John O'Neil and the other Swift Boat Vets crucify that Traitor
Unbelievable, isn't it?
Cheers,
Mike
BTTT
Kerry lied?
BFD - he's a Dimocrat, of COURSE he lies!
So I wonder when Kerry is going to spontaneously combust with all these different stories coming out about all these different things he's said at different times about different people. And will it be Hillary to rise from the ashes?
I don't remember a whole lot of those days .. I was pre-grade school :0)
But I do remember my oldest brother wanting to join the Marines. Dad didn't want him too and made him go to college. See, dad was dying of cancer and he needed my brother home to help my mother and us other 6 other kids.
A few months after dad died .. my brother signed up for the Marines .. he was never sent to Vietnam .. they sent him to Cuba instead, which we know as Gitmo .. but a number of my cousins were sent over ... one cousin was killed in action over there
Kerry didn't just speak out against a war .. he spit on ALL our soldiers and got in bed with the enemy to make himself look important
Words alone cannot describe how I feel about that man
I love the Union Leader - I used to read it when I was a kid - every morning without fail...
I'm not even going to comment on Kerry's lies, since evrything out of his mouth is a lie. When he tells the truth, will ya all ping me so I can enjoy the shock? Thanks.
