Credit: The Cabal The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger. "Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix." We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research. With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned. |

re: #1662
Is there any news from the little area of land SW of Punta Gorda?
After pouring through a bit of data, I am pretty sure the storm was cat 5 over that region.
Thank you everyone for all your prayers and kind words along the way - it made a very tense day a lot easier to manage.
I'm going to go home, drag my sleeping wife off the couch and get her to bed (just like I do every night), then I'm going to check on my beautiful kids, pet our four kittys and then treat myself to a nice, cold beer ... oh, yeah, and say a few thanks to the Good Lord for sparing us.
I am listening to the live feed and they were reporting
that there are casualties in these two areas, massive
damage in Charlotte and Porta Gunda.

Thank you Layout Guru
I appreciate the update.
The general lack of news coming out of the most affected regions is frustrating. It's possible that there is a small area that is "gone"... there may be very many casualties.
BTW: Where did you get that link from? One of my friends runs that site. :)
Thank you Lord for answering our prayers. :-)
Thank you for sharing your link with us:)
I've been watching the news video feed here:
http://waterbc.wm.llnwd.net/waterbc_netvideo
They are reporting that all three hospitals have lost their roofs and are shut down. The reporter said that there are numerous deaths.
lol, I forgot I put it up...
I've been going a bit crazy with this storm today, it's truly a once in a lifetime event. ;)
We'll continue to pray, exSoldier.
You and your wife sleep well.
If you can post what churches need what in Florida and where to send those items; that would be helpful.
Thank you Jellyjam
Someone posted a thread about 'substantial loss of life' that was pulled.

Odd. Though, it might be best to wait on written conformation.
Good night Jellyjam.
Sleep well.
I'm reporting what the reporter on the ground said. I don't mean to cause trouble.
I know, it wasnt you that started the thread though. ;)
The radar was showing winds of 160mph+ before the storm hit the Punta Gorda area. I really have a bad feeling about what has gone on in the area (sounds like a lot of elderly folks who did not evac).
Did anyone evac that area?
BTW, have you said hello to TS Danielle yet?
Al Qaeda's U.S. Network

Before we convince ourselves al Qaeda is down for the count, check the stats.
Islamist extremists in the world as estimated by moderate Muslim leaders: about 12 million. Fundamentalist sympathizers: 120 million. Those numbers represent 1 percent and 10 percent of the world's Muslim population of 1.2 billion. The CIA puts the extremists much higher 40 million.

Your knowledge of weather is far greater than mine. Any idea what the hurricane is going to do tomorrow? Do you think it is going to build up enough strengh to become a cat 4 again when it hits S.C./N.C., or wherever it hits?
The FBI's recent arrests of two imams in Albany following a yearlong sting disclosed their interest in manpads (shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles. Few of the younger U.S. counterintelligence agents realize manpads literally brought down the Soviet empire. With U.S.-supplied Stinger missiles, the Afghan mujahideen, many of them fathers of today's al Qaeda terrorists, grounded Soviet fighter-bombers, gunships and troop transports. Only eight months elapsed between withdrawal of the last Soviet troops from Afghanistan on Feb. 15, 1989, to the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the liberation of Eastern Europe.
Therefore, it is reasonable to assume al Qaeda seeks manpads several hundred thousand are former Soviet models readily available on the international arms black market as the weapon bin Laden believes could paralyze the U.S. or at the very least, bring the world economy to a standstill. Three airliners brought down the same day in different parts of the world would probably send markets into a tailspin.
The 165 KT wind speed, on a normal day, would translate to SUSTAINED 160-170mph winds.
Within the inner lines there was likely Category 4 to Category 5 wind. Hurricane Andrew showed us that these wind speeds will rip homes from their foundations. These types of winds will level whole towns. Punta Gorda is centered on that white dot within the inner most lines. It was in the middle of the strongest part of the eyewall of the storm, if anyone saw 160mph winds, that's the spot. The outer lines indicate areas affected by the outer eyewall. They all likely saw gusts to 100mph+.
I fear there is unthinkable devestation within the most affected region. I don't know if I want to go too much further into what may have happened right now.
