The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

I AGREE WITH YOU, IT WILL.

I'm not for just rolling over and playing dead.

But, from the Biblical predictions, I'd say, the police state is coming regardless (and is far more here than most seem to realize). And, probably prayer will retard it's coming more than even activism and writing letters--though both are worthy tasks.

I'd like to see a citizen's group of trustworthy folks like a grand jury but say with a 5 year term and well paid, protected etc. to monitor all such activities that put our civil liberties at risk at all. Several such oversight bodies, if needed.

But, it won't happen. The horror of the world government will come first. And then Jesus will destroy that. Then all such matters will be moot as He truly brings HIS PEACE.

Veteran al-Qaida operative providing insight into bin Laden's network

Associated Press
Aug. 13, 2004 12:15 PM

LONDON - A newly arrested al-Qaida operative is providing valuable insight into the inner workings of Osama bin Laden's network as the United States remains on alert for attacks, U.S. officials and a diplomat in Africa told The Associated Press.

Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, a Tanzanian wanted in the deadly bombings of U.S. embassies in East Africa, has much to say. His life has tracked al-Qaida's evolution from a tightly organized network assaulting prominent U.S. targets to a looser group struggling to maintain momentum.

Ghailani, once on the FBI's most-wanted terrorist list with a $5 million bounty for the 1998 embassy bombings, was apprehended last month in Pakistan during a sweep that netted more than 20 al-Qaida suspects in that country and led to more than a dozen arrests in Britain.

Attention surrounding the arrests has focused on another suspect, Mohammed Naeem Noor Khan, an alleged al-Qaida computer expert. But Pakistani Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said, "The most important arrest that has been made of late has been that of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani."

I read my wife your e-mails and posts. I always read her pegitas prayers, even when they're not aimed at us. She wept tonight in gratitude. She never understood how "tight" freepers can be, until now. We just spoke to Kelly. They are fine but have no power. She sounds a little bit sleepy and that's good. No hysteria or blatant fear. They have a very small lot size and almost zero property line. This has worked in their favor since the larger homes on three sides have served to shelter them from the winds. God provides and freepers pray. Thank you all so much! I am going to bed.

I am not advocating such a thing, sir, and I think that you are over-reacting to the gist of the post.

Hopefully your mystery couple is ok, too! If I come across anything else that looks like they might fit the specifications I'll freep mail ya!

Is there any news from the little area of land SW of Punta Gorda? I really have a bad feeling about what has gone on in a small section right around Punta Gorda. I've been going over some data with some friends in a weather chatroom and I would be extremely surprised if there is not a decent swath of total devastation.

Agents can now "Expedite Removal" of Illegals

New Authority for Border Patrol Agents

The Department of Homeland security gives Border Patrol Agents the power to send illegal immigrants back home without appearing before a judge. Officials are not calling this process a "deportation.", they call it "expedited removal" and it gives Agents in the field a power they haven't used before, at least not in the El Paso Area.

The rule applies to illegal immigrants who've been in the country for less than two weeks, and who've been caught within 100 miles of the border - that could be anywhere between El Paso and Truth or Consequences (NM). The removal process generally takes more than a year and involves a hearing before an Immigration Judge, but under the new plan an immigrant can be deported just 8 days after being caught.

The Homeland Security Department says Mexican or Canadian Nationals are not the focus of this sweep, it's geared more toward people from other nations in an effort to fight terrorism. But according to one immigration attorney, these removals are a violation of civil liberties.

UPDATE:

CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Hurricane Charley cut a wide path of destruction across both shores of Charlotte Harbor Friday, flattening houses and businesses like a wrecking ball and throwing others into the sea.

Charley’s unexpected 145 mph winds destroyed entire neighborhoods on both sides of the Peace River. It threw emergency officials into chaos, forcing them to evacuate their own command center.

Up to 50 people brought to Charlotte Regional Medical Center with injuries, according to hospital CEO. Injured were being airlifted to area hospitals because Charlotte hospitals sustained heavy damage.

Authorities had no confirmed counts of wounded. They had only begun to tally the damage on Friday night. Cell phones were virtually useless.

Thanks bunches. Some of the posts on the hurricane thread are of people asking for information about areas that we know got hit hard. Our freeper family is going to be hurt just as much as anyone else, come the dawn.

Preemptive prayer is in order.

It might take a phonecall to NOAA or the NHC to find out who hasn't checked in, if they'd even tell you. I'd bet that would be an indication of extreme damage.

UPDATE:

The eye passed directly over Punta Gorda, a city of 15,000 on Charlotte Harbor. At the county airport, wind tore apart small planes, and one flew down the runway as if it were taking off. The storm spun a parked pickup truck 180 degrees, blew the windows out of a sheriff’s deputy’s car and ripped the roof off an 80- by 100-foot building.

In DeSoto County outside Arcadia, several dead cows, wrapped in barbed wire, littered the roadside.

Expedited removal sounds good to me. If they are not legal I don't care about their "civil rights". Thanks for the post Selene.

China Worries About US Navy Plans for East Asia
By Patrick Goodenough

August 12, 2004

Pacific Rim Bureau (CNSNews.com) - Beijing believes that a major global U.S. Navy exercise over the summer, as well as a reported plan to base a second aircraft carrier in the western Pacific, are signs that Washington's strategic focus is shifting east -- with the aim of tackling "the rise of China."
