Lanny Davis took up the mantle for the Kerrytistas tonight on Hannity & Colmes and appeared to be approaching the danger zone where one might be close to being legally liable for libel or slander. Lanny is a lawyer and careful enough with his own rhetoric that he knows where the line is but is certainly on the verge of coming close to crossing it. The honorable SwiftVets' legal representation appears to be viable in responding to previous attempts to distort their story, at least in their swift (pun intended) denunciation of the Boston Globe reporter misquote. I don't believe others on the DNC hit parade will be so observant and thus bare the potential for being held to account for any slander towards these vets. These men are independent individuals who've gone the distance - for a second time now (in honored service) - by establishing their absolute credibility and providing extensive notarized legal documentation, along with other uncontested facts, etc.. and thus appear somewhat shielded from these kinds of disgusting ad-hominim attacks that were so commonplace by spinmeisters and other verbal miscreants during the Clinton era.
Things must be getting really bad.
Davis also stated O'Neill was never on one of the boats.. and everyone else missed it ! O'Neill is on H&C tomorrow.
Everyone knows that the book is coming out tomorrow?
Call your local bookstore, and make sure they have it.
I'm not a lawyer and I felt that Davis crossed the line. Sure hope the Swiftvets are on top of this.
I thought Gardner was the gunner also.
Lanny is deceptive, Alan plays confused ... or he is (confused)
I missed it. What did Davis say?
The word testify is a legal term, and as far as I know, none of them have been placed under oath when speaking of their activities during that period with Lurch.
WHO can watch Lanny Davis??? He's the "Liar's" liar!!!
Sounded like slander to me. He deliberately called the Vets liars at least twice. The only way to prove who is telling the truth is to open Kerry's records. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems that if the Vets sue, they should have access to JfnK's records for discovery. The public has a right to know...
I pre-ordered it on Amazon about a week ago.
Gardner has said he was Kerry's gunner ON Kerry's SWIFT boat, so Gardner DID serve on the same boat as Kerry
It is meltdown time in DemoCrap land!!!!
Yep, Must be bad. Kerry probably put in for his own purple heart.
Release the records, simple solution. When the easy way out isn't taken, you know the rest.
Lanny is a punk and he is an idiot all at the same time. He insists the Swifites didn't "serve" with Kerry because they weren't on his "ship". In other words I didn't serve with the men in 2nd Platoon. He's an idiot.
FMCDH(BITS)
I think Lanny just set himself up for a lawsuit...O'Neill is a lawyer...bad thing to do Lanny...clinton isn't president anymore to pull your butt out of the fire!!!
Lanny Davis is a typical slime lawyer. According to him, only Kerry is allowed to speak. Even though Kerry is the one who keeps bringing this up anyone who questions him is a liar. Lanny is disgusting.
it's interesting you point that out - I believe Lanny was doing so for a couple reasons; first he's trying to distinguish between formal (legally notarized) testimony from live testimony (or at least that's the distinction he'd try to draw in court, facing libel charges). He knows that the SwiftVets have, indeed, truly, legally testified, in effect, while, to the contrary, none of Kerry's "band of brothers" has actually provided such sworn testimony (albeit in written, notarized form) of the such the SwiftVotes have and Kerry's "brothers" have not or at least, to my knowledge.
