Lt. Houghton was severely wounded in July by an RPG in Iraq. He was very strong in his will to live, but alas, God has asked him to join Him.

Heavenly Father, we return with tears to give You thanks for the life of this brave young man. Thank You for all those who ministered to him in an attempt to restore him to health ... may they be touched by the prayers and love that have surrounded Andy, and may their hearts be inclined to the Author of Life. Thank You that we can know grief and sorrow, yet know that Andy joyfully is in Your Presence. Comfort his family and friends, for a light is gone from their household. Our nation has been blessed by his life and his service ... his struggle has been great, but now he is Home. In the Name of Jesus, we praise You, Amen ...

God bless you, Lt. Houghton.
God bless your family also.
I thank The Lord every day for Americans like the Houghton family.
Our little girl is 3. She says her prayers every night at bedtime. Her last line is always: "And thankyou God for the brave soldiers who are protecting us."
She will thank God for Lt. Houghton especially tonight.
I'm so sorry and so thankful.
