President Bush enjoys a 2-1 edge over Democratic challenger John Kerry among small business owners, according to a National Small Business Association survey.
The advocacy group surveyed 14,000 small business owners just before the Democratic convention. Bush received 64 percent of the vote, and Kerry got 32 percent.
Bush carried every state except Vermont and the District of Columbia.
Most of the small business owners identified themselves as Republicans. Only 24 percent said they were Democrats.
As for issues, Bush and Kerry tied on health care, but Bush won on taxes, Social Security, jobs, the overall economy, small business issues, the war on terrorism, moral issues and values. Kerry won on education and Iraq.
The Republican tilt found in the NSBA survey also can be seen in campaign contributions by small business political action committees. Republicans have received 99 percent of the $431,270 contributed to candidates this election by the National Federation of Independent Business. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has given 82 percent of its campaign contributions to Republicans.

The horrific choice of the crooked trial lawyer Edwards "displeases" small business and dooms the democrats, in my opinion.

One out of three small business fail each year.
We have just identified an absolute tool for predicting which will fail. How any businessperson could support the democrats is beyond comprehension.

Democrats prefer BIG corporations. Hard to control thousands of small ones.
Most of the small business owners identified themselves as Republicans. Only 24 percent said they were Democrats
That many huh?

DemoCraps can actually be good for BIG business. DemoCraps impose regulations and taxes which can put small businesses under, but which won't break a sweat for a big business.

Many mega-corporations support rats, especially when it comes to driving small business competitors out of business.

My boss is a small business owner and is backing Bush all the way. Sadly, we are the only two Republicans in our small office of six people.

After the ambulance-chasing trial lawyer was chosen as Kerry's running mate, the Chamber of Commerce let their displeasure with Edwards be known. Small business people detest trial lawyers. Look for the Chamber to work very hard for The Prez.
This article is good news because these people (small business owners) vote.

Make sure to remind the other four people in the office that election day is November 3rd and to make sure to show up at the polls on that day.

As a small business owner, I believe supporting the Jackass Party is equivalent to a financial death wish - "suicide by taxes and regulation". The 32% who support Kerry are the former hippy arts and crafts shop owners and female "consultants" with worthless liberal arts degrees who profit from regulation.

I agree. A small business person would have to be nuts to back Kerry.

The horrific choice of the crooked trial lawyer Edwards "displeases" small business and dooms the democrats, in my opinion. Most small businesses wrestle daily with excess taxes and regulations. Those are the two 900 pound gorillas.

Section 4479 of the tax code. i.e. Schedule C.
The second Bush Tax Reduction Package allows accelerated depreciation of $100,000 of purchase business equipment.
It phases out to make RINO's like Olympia Snow happy. With a little luck the election of the likes of Keyes and Coburn can nullify these RINO Twitts, we need about 3 more conservative Senators on top of these two.
I think the rebound has a lot to do with small business taking advantage of this break and retooling. I have so many anecdotal examples this post would be pages long, but I see it with my own eyes, this turn around is real.

Perhaps business owners should inform their employees that higher taxes, promised by Kerry, will mean fewer employees. Even the clueless should be able to get the picture.
