In honor of places that we know we could eat without being interupted by Kerry... Please post your favorite BBQ joint, where it is and what your favorite thing is at that place...
Yes, I think it's Texas Brisket House on the south side a block west of the plant.
Ok - I'm familiar with that area too (I only know about 4 highways so far! lol).......I'll check it out!
MMMM Salt Lick IS good.
Also have to nominate Kreuz in Lockhart, Texas 619 N. Colorado St., Lockhart, TX 78644

There are at least 10 Bodacious BarBQ places in the Longview/Tyler area. Some are better than others, but they are all good and I eat at them regularly.
Country Tavern is on State Hwy 31 between Kilgore and Tyler. It's a family run (since 1947) and they specialize in pork ribs.
It is truely a special place and I'm certain you will love the food and atmosphere. It doubles as a honky tonk at night.
I usually go to the Bodacious on 80 and Gilmer, sometimes the one on 42 and I20. They do vary, it taste and price.
You've obviously never eaten at Sutfins in Amarillo!
