August 7, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - A U.S. sailor aboard one of America's high-tech Navy warships sent e-mails to a suspected London-based al Qaeda terrorist and may have revealed sensitive military secrets, authorities announced yesterday. The traitor sailor, who has not been identified, praised Muslim terror strikes against America and may have turned over detailed plans about the Navy's USS Benfold and more than a dozen other ships in its battle group as they were moving through the Mideast, officials said. The information about the American sailor was disclosed yesterday by federal prosecutors in Connecticut who said he had been in contact with accused British terrorist Babar Ahmad.

Get ready for the onslaught from the ACLU and the National Lawyers' Guild.
I have planks and a wooden deck and a wooden hull. Bring him on!!!
I thought about the gunners mates. We could wrap him in Aluminum foil and put him on a plank for gunnery practice. The foil would help the radar fire control to spot him.
They could track him in a little paint punt and do some practice on the CIWS.
That sounds like fun!
You assume he was stupid enough to send the email from the ship, rather than from shore
Being KEEL HAULED on an AIRCRAFT CARRIER would be a b!tch!
Anyone think the traitor is Catholic? Protestant?
Please explain keel hauling. I'm not familiar with that term.
Thanks.
Let me go a little deeper than the hang him, keel haul him comments, (which I agree with). After all, Im a Navy vet, and this disgust me to no end.
Let me quote columnist Michell Malkin "You cannot ban the use of profiling in pursuing homeland security and expect to win the war."
Question - How many times have Muslims in the military turned traitor so far in this war? When are we going to learn? We are at war. Would we have aloud Japanese men to serve in the military without any discretion during WWII? NO.
Its time for a major policy change before we have another U.S.S. Cole.
He's supposed to be shot on the spot.
The article seems to be saying he sent the e-mails from the ship.
No one on this thread has looked at this in a reverse manner. A sailor on a US warship sends e-mails to a suspected London-based al Qaeda terrorist. The sailor continues to correspond with the terrorists for x number of months. Mass arrests of Al Qaeda take place in England after sailor is long gone from navy. Sounds more like a Naval Intelligence sting and this is the cover story.
Be quiet now.
I just said "Loose lips sink ships." 1000 times to myself.

.............'nuff said.
I believe the Navy still has a protocol for forming a Marine firing squad.
I think it's best illustrated in the 1939(?)MGM 'Mutiny on the Bounty'. The haulee is attached to a line and tossed overboard either port or starboard and is dragged underneath to the other side of the vessel getting nearly drowned and badly cut by the barnacles attached to the underside of the vessel.
Perfect for a treasonous, scurvy dog.
