Chechen Separatist Granted Asylum in USA

Ilyas Akhmadov, one of Chechnya’s separatist leaders, has officially been granted asylum in the United States, RIA Novosti has learnt from the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya, co-chaired by former US national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinskiand former US secretary of state Alexander Hague.

According to the committee, the decision on granting asylum to Akhmadov was taken by an immigration court in Boston, Massachusetts, which was immediately appealed by the US government. “The appeal has now been rejected and the decision on granting asylum is now final,” the committee said.

The committee confirmed that not long ago Akhmadov was appointed to a post at the US non-governmental foundation National Endowment for Democracy and now plans to move to Washington for permanent residence and work.

National Endowment for Democracy confirmed that Akhmadov has been awarded a research grant under the Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Program and hence is entitled to monthly allowance, medical insurance as well as reimbursement of transportation costs.

In December last year Russian Foreign Ministry urged the US to take Russia’s position in consideration by examining Akhmadov’s application. “The US side is informed about our attitude towards that terrorist accomplice,” the ministry’s spokesman Aleksandr Yakovenko told the press then.

Russian law enforcers claimed to have evidence of Akhmadov’s ties to Chechen separatist leaders Aslan Maskhadov and Shamil Basayev, who has been placed on the international wanted list. In the Aslan Maskhadov government Ilyas Akhmadov held the post of the foreign minister of the self-styled republic of Ichkeria.

The US administration refused to comment on the decision of the Boston court on granting asylum to Ilyas Akhmadov, saying it was a private matter.

Houston - we hav a problemo.

I cannot comprehend how any judicial authority in this nation would grant amnesty to a member of a known terrorist entity - especially a Chechan one and especially in light of his brethren brutally murdering over 150 innocent children (many were raped, stabbed, shot in the back) within just days prior to crating this travesty of justice.

There must be a reckoning.

I've been saying for DAYs, since the onset of the hostage crisis in Beslan, that the American State Department has shown open support of the Chechen terrorists since the early 1990s.

Do you believe me now?

It is LONG PAST time yet to start freeping your Congressional delegation and the State Department to press for the DEPORTATION of ALL Chechen terrorists who have found safe harbor, here and in Britain.

Britain granted asylum to Aslan Mashkarov, for crying out loud, one of the principal architects of the Beslan school massacre!!!!

This piece of human filth lives comfortably in London while directing all manner of chaos in the Caucasus!

As someone else mentioned in an earlier post, how would you feel about Russia granting asylum to Osama bin Laden??!!

WTF? Granting Muslim terorists asylum? I don't think America's even going to wake-up after another and much worse, terrorist attack, dammit!

Makes me think of Richard Holbrooke sitting down with the Kosovo Liberation Army bandits when the States Department still oficially called them "terrorists".

The KLA terrorist savage Hachim Thaci was at the Democratic National Convention in Boston a few weeks ago. He was invited by Kerry, no doubt.

And the fat rat Holbrooke is sKerry's Secretary of State designate, according to many experts.

Hundreds die while Kerry lies!!!!

Most of these types are neocons but that is not always the case.

I think that it is about half-and-half neocon and "Third Way" (i.e., clinton, Blair, Schroeder, Soros, Holbrooke, Halfbright, etc.).

Both nominal "conservatives" and nominal "liberals"--both of of the "neo" variety--play the "Great Game"!!

I don't know where he is living, but I believe that Tampa/St Pete has a large Chechnyan contingent

This is absurd - I can't believe that a few short years after 9/11 we are making such wrongheaded policy decisions so often. We need to freep the state department - or even the White House. Heck, even stage a demonstration. Since when does a single court in Boston get to dictate the immigration policy of this nation?

Forget freeping the NGO. They will just laugh at you.

If buttercups buzz'd after the bee
If boats were on land, churches on sea
If ponies rode men and if grass ate the cows
And cats should be chased into holes by the mouse
If the mamas sold their babies
To the Gypsies for half a crown
If summer were spring
And the other way 'round
Then all the world would be upside down!

-----

The lyrics to "The World Turned Upside Down" - the song the British played when Cornwallis surrendered to Washington at Yorktown. If we don't wake up soon, the Marine Corp Band had best learn the tune.

What sickens me is our government use our tax dollars to enable people like this jerk and the likes of Arafat to plan and execute the murders of Russian and Israeli children making me and you a supporter and unwilling partner in the deaths they cause.

I guess we have too few Islamo-fascists in the US. We're now importing them.
