The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!

The Media is the Real Enemy

This has been one of my mantras since I arrived at FR in '97 ('96?). Holding rallies, working to get candidates elected, etc., is of immediate importance, but until we solve the media prejudice issue, we will always be pushing that boulder up the hill only to have it roll back down on us the moment our attention is diverted.

Liberal Media Hegemony is the Engine That Drives Their Movement

Liberals have to rely on propaganda and intimidation, in the media, in education, in unions, etc., to maintain control. They know it is the mothers milk of their effectiveness. Conservatives, if we are ever to achieve a lasting ascendancy and eliminate liberalism as a significant cultural influence, must understand that a long term plan on confronting and overcoming this challenge must be put in place or we will always just come up short of our goals.

Yes, we hold majorities in Congress and Governorships, the White House and the Supreme Court, what has that gotten us? The fact is there are still too many rinos willing to play politics and squelch the conservative agenda. Rinos are a direct result of the media holding too much power, particularly in close districts.

Do you think Clinton would have been re-elected, Hillary still sitting in the Senate, Gore almost winning in '00 and sKerry this close in '04 if it wasn't for the lapdog media who decides not only what information is disseminated, but as important, what isn't and how and where it is presented?

Imagine you are on a sports team and go to play an away game, only to lose by a large margin. You find out the next day the refs were paid off. Do you go back and play the same team next week, on the same turf with the same refs? That's what we do as conservatives every day of our lives. We when and bitch about it, but what are we actually doing to change it?

People say we have Fox News. Fox News does very well and beats the other cable stations, but when you add up the numbers for the others all together, they beat Fox. And, they still got Rather, Brokaw and Jennings. They still have the NY/LA Times and magazines. They still got our universities, our unions, our entertainment industry (an information dissemination industry all it's own). Yes, we got the internet, but it pales to the competitions advantage.

I'm not going to present a plan, I have my own ideas and am working on some of them. I'd like to hear what the FReepers have to say and what ideas you have, and, how far you are willing to go.

Rassmann is on he is the fraud who claims he was saved.

He is saying this should have been questioned 35 years ago.

Are medals questioned?

It seems swift boat vets have been disputing kery since he won.

Hanity questioning now.

Forget "lasting" ascendancy. Conservatism is ascendant right now, but the effect of it is being blunted by the media. Also, left and right aren't symmetric. The press will always tend on the left because faulty ideas get some lead time before reality comes crashing in.

Morris saying ad could backfire. Then again when was the last time Morris was right about anything? Funny thing is as long as they play the ad, who cares what they say about it.

Morris and O'Reilly are not veterans and probably avoided the draft through whatever means. They just don't understand the depth of feeling, commitment, and conviction that the Vets have about stopping Kerry from being elected. They, especially Morris, can't believe that a few good men with a cause can raise the money and have the courage to challenge the Dem machine and the media. It is David and Goliath. I don't care who it hurts politically, the truth must be told and let the chips fall where they may.

Honestly, I could give a crap about what Kerry did or didn't do 30+ years ago. I care about NOW and the FUTURE of this country. Kerry is a liar, we all know that, but he needs to be exposed as the fraud he is TODAY. We should be beating on his plans or lackthereof for America which he won't discuss.

This New York Times in owned and operated by Time Warner Communications.....they own practically every news paper in the country...locals included. Call your local paper and ask if you don't believe me. They also own CNN, DirecTV etc. etc. This is the absolute biggest media monopoly in the world.

They are also the driving force behind the political left. This is what is known as the "Kept Press".

Welcome to Marxism American Style!

Must be a lot of peeps going to the swiftvets site to check out what all the fuss is about because I have not been able to get through for awhile. Site must be getting hammered.

Or Leftists are hammering it with denial-of-service attacks. Gotta keep the curious away until this blows over...

Then again when was the last time Morris was right about anything?

Well, he was right when he said FatassThunderThighs wouldn't run for Senate..

Oh, he was wrong. Sorry.

He was right when he said she wouldn't win.

OH, he was wrong. Sorry.

Nevermind.

Left and right of what?

Prevailing norms, which only move a modicrum to the left or right despite the best efforts of partisans on both sides. Some imortant world events can push it left or right for a little while, but like water it usually finds it's level.

For example: When you think about it, the war on terror has done more in modern times to push the center to the right than anything that Ronald Reagan ever did.

That, and the fact that most journalists in major markets are college educated city-dwellers. Though not exclusively Democrats, that set tends towards a more liberal outlook on life.

I think it is of use that he is lying NOW about what happened then. He is revising his personal history to make it compatable with present political reality.

In the 70's he was anti-soldier and now he is pro-soldier.

It is an unbroken chane of flip flops lies and unabashed fraud.

What would you like to see the media look like? I just want the facts. No spin, no editorials, no innuendo's,etc. I want the truth, period! This country is going to collapse if we keep this partisan bitching up and ignore the big picture. Thanks for the platform to rant.

On the west coast, CBS covered it about 20 minutes into their evening news broadcast (Rather took the day off, leaving Roberts to give the broadcast).

The coverage went something like: "Republican John McCain denounced an attack ad put out by several Vietnam veterans attacking presidential candidate John Kerry's service record. Blah blah blah (voiceover while showing visual clips taken from the ad itself; cannot hear the audio portion of the ad at all). The White House declined to denounce the ad, however it did make a statement that it did not contest Kerry's service record.

Really, politicians like McCain gave the MSM much of the coverage they needed to blank out the ad content itself... as McCain himself must have been aware when he made his comments...
