President Bush went to the Dwight David Eisenhower Office Building this morning to sign HR4613, the Defense Appropriations Act, and then traveled to Columbus, Ohio to the Aladdin Shrine Center to speak to more than 2000 avid supporters in a town meeting, involving a lengthy policy statement and a question and answer period, and then headed to Saginaw, Michigan.

I just went to my library site to order A Matter of Character, and lo and behold! get this.

I put my name on the list yesterday, as #11 in line to read Unfit for Command when it comes out, and today there are 36 people in line.

It's worrrrrking, folks. Word is getting out.

She had a very thoughtful question and I liked his answer, too. It's good she's dipping her toe in this extremely memorable political stream. We live in such times ... amazing times. Has the contrast between good and evil ever been more obvious in the struggle for the presidency?

"What went on here tonight?"

It had a lot to do with:
McCainiac's denunciation of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth's TV ad;
Kerry's denunciation of W remaining a few minutes at the grade school between Plane 1 and Plane 2 hitting the Towers, as if he should have known that the first plane was a terrorist attack (all very bogus stuff);
and
The DNC lawyers threatening the television stations not to run the Swift Boat Vets for Truth ad.

Unfit for Command will call into question John Kerry's and James Rassman's claims of exactly what happened on the day John Kerry pulled Rassman from the water after the Boat Rassman was in, struck a Mine and he was tossed into the water.

John Kerry reported that he turned his boat around to save James Rassman, the report says that John Kerry went out on the Bow of his boat while under fire from the enemy to pull Rassman to safety and risked his life to save another.

The Swift Boat Vets tell a totally different story, they say that Kerry left the scene immediately after Rassman's Boat hit the Mine, 4 Sailor's were thrown from the Boat and three were plucked from the water by the other Swift Boats and John Kerry turned around and rescued Rassman from the water. By all accounts, none of the Swift Boats on that mission came under any enemy fire, and the story that John Kerry and James Rassman tells is far different from all the other accounts.

IMHO, this story has legs.

John Kerry constantly cites his service in Vietnam as proof he is qualified to be the next CIC, so nobody can complain if his record is brought into the light of day. Something tells me that John Kerry will not enjoy his day in the Sun :-)

I am so proud of and glad for these Swift Boat veterans, after all they suffered, finally being able to get out in the light and tell the truth.

America deserves to have the truth. We can handle it.

We need to give him a new nickname. Every time they show him from behind his wide A$$ stands out like a yellow Volkswagen. Compared to W, who has a very muscular shaped butt. sKerry keeps following W,and trying to emulate him in so many ways it is very bizarre. This on the heels of him practically necking with Edwards makes you wonder about the doofus. T Rex will have to pay to botox his butt or do something with it because it seems to be growing like fungus, but we know how rice swells when moisture is applied. LOL!!!!

Ohio!! Your report and pictures were GREAT!! I can't believe our President took a question from your daughter; the odds are SO against that, with SO many people there! That was a Blessing of our Lord your daughter will remember always! I'm rejoicing SO MUCH, and I'm not even the one that got to ask the question! :)

OK........so you were to our right......behind the group that sang? But did the President walk near you when he went in and out??

(btw, I thought the blue tickets were the lowest kind.....you MIGHT have been more important than I was! :o)

About this daughter of ours..........raising the other three didn't help a bit when it came to raising this one.

She is an extreme extrovert, gregarious, strong willed, stubborn, and filled with a joi de vivre (pardon my french. :)

But it has made her SO bold in her faith, and afraid of practically nothing........obviously. (Her parents are in awe!)

She wouldn't make it in the Army though...........she'd be out on her heels for insubordination in the first week of boot camp!

And Gretchen.........in answer to your question. No, I have NEVER seen such a distinction between good and evil in an election........such a clear choice between what is right, and what is so very wrong.

I really do think that our greatest weapon in this election, even more than getting out the vote and the word on our President, is our PRAYER!

This is a spiritual battle such as I have never seen in my lifetime.

I'm a little embarrassed to say this, but.......what you said about our President........I noticed that yesterday when he turned around and faced the other side of the crowd.

He's very fit.

Speaking of standing in line after being in the car for over an hour...............do you think the suggestion of Port-a-Pots should be made to the Bush/Cheney headquarters??

A woman behind us was desperate, and I was getting worried! :o)

I think it's a great idea, but I'm guessing that they can't have them as a security precaution. What time did you get there?

Hmmmmmmm.......I think it was a little after 9....maybe 9:15?

There was already a pretty long line when we got there, but at least two thirds of the people in our line got there after we did.

You may be right about the security, but for those who come from a distance, it could be a problem.

Wasn't it an absolutely beautiful day and event, though??

Are you a Browns' fan? For us, Bernie was just icing on the cake!

Whew! Just read through 550 posts! Good thing I didn't check FR before going to bed last night! Loved your pictures and your account AND YOUR DAUGHTER!! That is so cool. I would have been so nervous, not sure I could even get a coherent question out!! I bet W loved the question too. From his answer, I'd say he did.

Okay...now have to check the rest of the news and then go for my walk and then start in on my phone calling! It's going to be a long 3 months.

Yeah.......I know what you mean about it's being a long three months.

We just got the outline of what's ahead at our steering committee meeting last night, and it looks like we won't be able to come up for air until November 3rd!

BUT JUST THINK ABOUT HOW WORTH IT IT'S GOING TO BE ON THAT DAY!!!

(I just found out that every media outlet in Columbus covered her question, AND the President's answer! Answered prayer!!)

That is awesome!

I found out yesterday while volunteering at our state's campaign HQ that I will be able to see President Bush this Wednesday when he visits Phoenix. I have been to two RNC Presidential Gala dinners and shaken the President's hand at each one, but this will be my first campaign rally. Any suggestions for this rookie? :)
