I saw Springsteen's first concert in California. I thought he was predictable and boring. I also find him affected, pretentious, portentious and a total phoney.
Michael Stipe of REM makes my skin crawl.

"but I think the election is far more important than my career." If only he knew how much. More important than all of the Hollywood "celebrities" and their ilk and their predictable and parroted mental midget cliches.

Bruce's most hardcore fans come from areas that lost alot of people on 9/11. He's playing with fire. His old "No Nukes" routine looks asinine now, doesn't it? The Boss hasn't learned a thing.

Unlike the "Whoppie & Co." Bush-Bash, I sure the heck hope that THIS TIME, EVERY ONE of these events have LOTS & LOTS of AUDIO AND VIDEO for replay and reviewing.....

...you know....for the MUSIC......I just love that ending song "This Land Is Your Land"....I'll watch kerry's hands more closely THIS TIME, as he follows along strumming on the guitar, and that way I won't have to buy the sheet music....

OBTW, are french guitar chords different than AMERICAN guitar chords??.....kerry seemed like in the NY "concert" that he might have been playing the french chords, while the others were doing AMERICAN(i.e.NORMAL)chords....

Is it easy to play french chords on my 1985 Les Paul Deluxe?

IMHO....Milli Vanilli are TOTALLY VINDICATED.

In every catagory he "participates" in,(i.e. bike-riding, snowboarding, sailing, naval service, guitar playing, gun "shooting", corn handling, running for prez, etc,) kerry has to be one of the biggest fakes I've EVER seen in my life.

I saw an awards show a while back where Springsteen got some sort of lifetime achievment award. He thanked his lawyers, producers, personal assistants, etc. No mention of the people who buy his records. He has definitely jumped the shark.

I'll sing my new hit!

Changing with the Wind
Sung to Blowing in the Wind

How many times must he flip flop and flip,
Before he takes a firm stand?
How many lies must he tell about Nam,
Before we all call his hand?
How many times can he vote pro and con,
Before he is totally canned?
His answer my friend, is changing with the wind.
His answer is changing with the wind.
How many times will he say George Bush lied,
Before he tells us a fact?
How many times must I hear him drone on,
And still my ears stay intact?
How many deaths did he cause there in Nam,
With all his appeasements at home?
The answer and trend, John Kerry's not our friend,
The answer's John Kerry's not our friend.
How many terms could John Kerry serve,
Before America's gone?
How many days before he would cave in,
Afraid to protect our home?
How many weeks till he gave us away,
And let the UN take the throne?
The answer my friend, we'd twist in the wind,
The answer is we'd twist in the wind.

This concert is directly tied to the Kerry campaign is it not? Kerry better pray that these celebrity morons don't say anything too crazy, like you know they will. A few "Bush Knew"-type lines would be a major help in the "Howard Dean-ization" of the French One.

I am happier every day my preferences have shifted to jazz; more music, less politics.

Classical music works for me. Or very old songs, back when performers simply "performed" and didn't campaign.

"That's a very definite possibility, but I think the election is far more important than my career."

After this election you won't have a career, moron.

I'm now convinced he cashed in on 911 with The Rising.

Kerry has the endorsements of the PA, North Korea, and China, and the guy that wrote the song about the suicide bomber is going to back a guy that is engaged in that type of warfare with us.

What an idiot.

Where are the conservative 'rockers' and their tour?

Toby Kieth and Ted Nugget would be a good start. Springsteen and company will be able to campaign for Kerry, and avoid the campaign finance reform law. The NRA will be silenced, but these guys can sing on.

I guess we should thank Arnie for the re-introduction of the term "girlie-men" back into everyday conversation.

Apparently, the definition, though, has morphed from Arnie's intent. It was apparently a knock about people being over-sensitive, now it means "Democrat" or "liberal". LOL. Or even worse - aging rock star.

Springsteen is a moron. In the mid 70's I heard part of an interview with him on the radio. He couldn't put an intelligent sentence together. It was mostly 'uh', "like", and "you know". All the stupid phrases people use when they can't think of anything to say.

Sigh, all my favorite rock n roll artists from my youth have turned out to be drug addicts, queer or liberal nut jobs. I could deal with the drug addict part but not the other two.

"Heintz, meanwhile, has the solution for all those conflicted Republican Springsteen fans: Stay home.

"I want to see Democrats there supporting John Kerry and supporting Bruce Springsteen's music," she said. "I hope (ticket takers) check party affiliations at the door."

Is there anything dumber than a liberal? I really think you're missing the point of this whole concert series, lady!

Of course my first reaction to this is all conservatives should stay clear of this 'concert series' as well as never buy these fools' music ever again. On the other hand, it would be great if Republicans bought out most of the tickets and instead of cheers and agreement at the concerts, the performers were met with boos and/or silence! Better yet, buy out all the tickets and no one show up!
