Europe will have an Islamic majority by the end of this century based on current demographic and migration trends, a leading US Middle East specialist says.
"Europe will be part of the Arab west - the Maghreb," said Bernard Lewis, a Princeton University professor and author of numerous books on the Middle East, in an interview with the newspaper Die Welt.
In addition to immigration, Lewis said Europeans were marrying too late and having too few children whereas Muslims in Europe married early and had far larger numbers of children.
"Current trends show Europe will have a Moslem majority by the end of the 21st century at the latest," said Lewis as quoted by the paper.
Germany, the biggest European Union (EU) country, currently has over 3 million Muslims out of a total population of 82 million.
EU leaders will in December decide on whether to open membership talks with mainly Muslim Turkey which currently has a population of 70 million but is expected to outgrow Germany in coming decades.
They are already converting. Several well-known leftists (Carlos the Jackal, for one) have converted to Islam, and conversions are on the rise in places like France, England and Spain. This is because the left loves rigid, authoritarian systems that use violence to propagate and maintain themselves. Islam is right up the leftist alley.
The Germans will not go quietly - if history is any indication.

Professor Lewis- and I trust I have the right one, is 86 years old. I have a sense of the Wagnerian idea here. He wants to see destruction of a civilization. It probably gives him his jollies at upsetting people. Gotterdammerung or some such bloomin' word. Bye bye Professor.

This anaylsis is very much in line with what the liberal elite who rule Europe are hoping for regarding the hordes of Muslims they've imported as cheap labor. It isn't working out that way, though. The initial wave of immigrants, in the 60s, responded as you suggest. They threw off the constraints of Islamic societies and indulged full force in the hedonistic, amoral culture of the already post-Christian Europe.
Their children are a different story, though. With socialist economies whose welfare-state programs severly limit the creation of decent jobs in the private sector, combined with the rabid self-hate of leftist Euros, racial preference shemes, and the official doctrine of multiculturalism (sound familiar?), the 2nd generation Muslims have overwhelmingly embraced Wahabi Islam and now form a huge fifth column in countries like France, where whole districts are basically under their control, with Sharia unofficially enforced upon the residents.
Not that anything like this will ever convince the open borders jihadis in either Europe or this country (or on this forum, for that matter). I doubt that even dirty nukes being detonated in major cities would persuade such people, so dedicated are they to their one-world ideology.

No, not incorrect. The habits of wealthy Saudis were not being discussed. The habits of muslim laborers in EU (mostly turks, mostly uneducated) were. Laz is talking apples and peaches.
