According to the site, Carter was not at practice this morning and was "driven away". The Cowboys will address the issue this afternoon but ESPN radio report he will be released by the Cowboys today.
True enough. One time on the nfl channel (my brother in law has directv) I saw a special on Parcells and in the interview he said that he asks every player what his priorities in life are. If football is not in the top 3 then he doesn't want that player around his team. Football may be a game to you and me, but to guys like the Tuna it's as serious as a Wall Street board meeting. As it should be.
He was told that Carter's attitude about rotation, plays, snaps, etc. will be the major reason.
So, who knows anything, except that Carter is definitely gone.
"Sounds like Carter might have been doing something in the hotel room he shouldn't have..."
The suddenness of the change in his situation with the Cowboys definitely makes one think it has to do with off field issues. I would think the Players Association would have a problem with this if it was a routine substance abuse matter since Carter has no past history. I'm just guessing, but I think it may be a gambling issue.
That his belly button.
Righto -- I was in the gym just yesterday morning, watching ESPN on the locker-room TVs, and SportsCenter was playing (and re-playing, over and over each hour; I caught it coming and then going) Parcells' and QC's interviews. QC was very confident about "my team" and such. Nothing bad about that, I just find it wackadoo that ONE DAY LATER he's tossed off the team.
What did QC do all of a sudden, pull a "PJ Carlissimo choking" episode or something?
I've been wrong before. And it wouldn't be the first time a nice guy couldn't leave white powder alone.
I think its interesting that none of the supposed sports journalists have bothered to point out that Carter is just the latest example of incompetence of the Cowboys General Manager in selecting player personnel.
This is generally the conclusion that occurs when success and experience (Parcells) meets egomania and incompetence (Jerry Jonesan).
In other news, deck chairs onboard Titanic to be recovered in chintz.
That reminds me - GO RANGERS !!!!
When you hear about a player being suspended for substance abuse, that means that he had been caught before, but the first time they don't disclose it to the public.
Carter could not start for any team in the league and might be able to make second string on less than half of the teams. Plenty of crappy QB's have taken their teams to the playoffs: Anthony Wright, Kordell Stewart, Carter . . . even the worst QB in the history of the league, Mark Malone, took my Steelers to the playoffs.
It sounds like Quincy Carter just found that out firsthand.
With the Falcons running the West Coast offense, Vick might get three weeks into the season before he gets injured again.
You're confusing the Jimmy Johnson era Jones with the present day Jones. I think he's a different person now. He's no longer just some carpetbagging a-hole from Arkansas. QC is a pre-Parcells guy.

I've seen the special your are referring to, I also have directv and the nfl channel. I'm sure this will be the lead story tonight at 7 PM EST. If I catch it, I'll try to post what I hear.

Yep, or an arrest warrant was issued for something....could be a lot of things.
Anybody see the Cowboy's 11:30 PST press briefing?

We all have been wrong at one point or another, and yep, it wouldn't be the first time....
I heard he likes weed, but who know he probably has upgraded to powder in the NFL.
You sure about that? If memory serves, QC was a selection Jonesan was "excited about" prior to Parcells arrival, during Dave Campo's tenure.
