More financial institutions than previously disclosed may be at risk of attack and an Al Qaeda operative has told British intelligence that the groups target date is early September, intelligence sources said yesterday.
The operative, described as credible by British intelligence, told his debriefers that the attack would take place '60 days before the US presidential election' on November 2, according to a former National Security Council official.
On September 2 President Bush is expected to address the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.
Counter terrorism officials are analyzing data from a computer siezed in Pakistan last month to see if financial instutions in addition to the five disclosed last Sunday are at risk of attack, US officials said yesterday.
A US official familiar with the ongoing analysis of the computer said, 'There are reference to other buildings in the Al Qaeda computer data including a picture of the Bank of America building in San Francisco. 'There is mention of other places.'

the key people responsible for 9-11 were fired on January 21st 2001 - Sandy Berger and Bill Clinton, and the rest of that gang.
As more and more reports of "fur'ners" coming across the southern border, I agree.
Close the damn borders.. Now!
'Maybe I am wrong to have my concerns.'
No, just wrong to think this problem can be solved by just redeploying troops with no other measures or changes in ROE status quo undertaken.
What's funny about this thread is everyone complains about this yet no one can offer any real solutions.
There are only two solutions. You let them in, or you keep them out. Now whether it is a wall, a fence, pilotless drones with sleep agent, whatever, there needs to be a solution.
Point is the Israelis threw up a hundred or so miles of fence in what, 16 months? People want money for college? Hey, work six months on building a security fence and the government will pay you for a year in school. Build a dozen outposts along the route where workers can sleep, eat and rest. Make it modular. When that part of the fence is done tear it down, move it and set it back up. When you get to a town, make that a border crossing.
It will cost some money, but in the end it is worth it.
You are exactly right.
That and any other prominent Republican and Democrat Congressman/Senators that may be present to witness GW's acceptance speech.
Probably the VP and Speaker of the House also.
Scary thought, but conceivable.
Now 3700+ views on this thread, Peach.
But I'm only able to find that if I do a search for the thread, then look at it on the page of returned searches.
The view number doesn't seem to be showing at the top of individual threads.
Or is it?
Where else are you seeing the view numbers?
We TRIED that. The envirnazis and so-called "human rights groups" filed lawsuits. It is now tied up on court.

What is Ready.gov all about?
Terrorists are working to obtain biological, chemical, nuclear and radiological weapons, and the threat of an attack is very real. Here at the Department of Homeland Security, throughout the federal government, and at organizations across America we are working hard to strengthen our Nation's security. Whenever possible, we want to stop terrorist attacks before they happen. All Americans should begin a process of learning about potential threats so we are better prepared to react during an attack. While there is no way to predict what will happen, or what your personal circumstances will be, there are simple things you can do now to prepare yourself and your loved ones.
Some of the things you can do to prepare for the unexpected, such as assembling a supply kit and developing a family communications plan, are the same for both a natural or man-made emergency. However, as you will see throughout the pages of Ready.gov, there are important differences among potential terrorist threats that will impact the decisions you make and the actions you take. With a little planning and common sense, you can be better prepared for the unexpected.

Well, if they are looking for you, they'll find you riding Asa Hutchinson's bumper with your nose.
Simple question: Do you think Asa Hutchinson is doing a good job of protecting our borders? We just want to know where you stand.
I see the views next to the headline. Then I click on the headline and read the article and posts.
I think I'm set up to read breaking news and then on the sidebar I have activism and then breaking news. SOme people seem to be set up to read latest posts.
I doubt if George will seal the borders up but I bet that ole' presidential pen is ready to declare martial law. The Ninja Boys will be happy at least. I'm still pondering why we hired Yvgeny Primakov (sp?) ex-head of the KGB to "advise" Homeland Security? Just my paranoia acting up I guess but when I see our government acting like the old Soviet Union I can't help but wonder.
Ah, got it.
Yes, that's the only place I see the view number too, on the page with the main list of articles. For some reason, I thought I was supposed to be seeing the number on each individual thread after I had clicked on it.
Thanks! Now I know I'm not missing something!
However, the data was emailed to Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani (a top Al Qaeda operative) in Pakistan around JULY 13, 2004, just 12 days before he was arrested on July 25th.
So obviously the terrorists don't view it as "old" (and thereby useless) information.
See my #115.
Yeah, it's gonna be a Waco a minute.
the borders are never going to be secure enough to stop the small teams of people that AQ needs to conduct operations. of course, border security should be much better - for reasons of domestic security, as well as a sane immigration policy.
but the idea that our border security could be good enough to stop a dedicated team of 20 people - its not going to happen. we'd have to turn both borders into nothing short of the Berlin Wall.
If Kerry uses the threat of a terror attack to make himself look better than Bush, he is utterly shameless and despicable. He should be rallying all of HIS people together as AMERICANS to help fight the war on terror, not using it to his political advantage.
I can see him now "If I were in the White House, we wouldn't be raising and lowering these alert levels all the time." (RIGHT - because you wouldn't even GO TO THE SECURITY BRIEFINGS so you wouldn't know when to raise the threat level!!!!!)
Send the troops from Pendelton, To watch the Mexico Border, and what ever bases up north to Canada. Start building the Great Wall of America, and go from there.
We guard borders all over the world. We refuse to guard our own.
