The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Being fired for not being Muslim is against the law. Federal law. Will the goverenment sue?

Actually the story sounds more like she was fired for eating pork on company premises - not for being Catholic rather than Muslim. A company can pretty much dictate what you do on company premises (assuming that they aren't asking anyone to do anything illegal). What will get a company in trouble would be terminating an employee merely for belonging to the wrong religion, at least as long as the employee wasn't using that to avoid doing their job (eg, refusing to do their work at a defense contractor because they've decided their religion requires them to be a conscientious objector) or bringing their religion into the workplace in a confrontational way, or something else like that where their religion was preventing them from performing their job function.

Consider this for example: If you're the proprietor of a kosher Jewish deli, you probably don't want your employees bringing pork into the establishment since it would make it difficult or impossible to maintain a kosher restaurant.

Having said all that it does sound like rather much of an overreaction for an electronics company to have that kind of policy and that kind of reaction to that situation ... however it would be perfectly within their rights as long as the incidents in question happened on company premises.

Yes, I recall. Your post on one of the earlier TM threads is where I first heard about it, in fact.

Only thing is Hitchens --- in his piece -- didn't reveal what happened right away. We would need to notice the vacancies in a major city as far as officials and others go in order to have advance notice.

I guess that's why some folks on this thread want to track the whereabouts of the first felons. LOL!

Olympic security fiasco revealed by stolen passes

Ten days before the Olympic Games start in Athens, passes allowing vehicles into several venues, including the Olympic village, have been stolen.

Potentially Lethal Chemical Stolen (UK)

Police were today searching for thieves who stole 23 litres of a “potentially lethal” chemical from a factory.

Hydrosluoric acid – which is used for industrial cleaning – was taken from the factory in Dereham, Norfolk, early yesterday, said a police spokeswoman.

She warned that the chemical could cause “deep tissue burns” if it touched skin and gave off “strong fumes which could prove fatal“.

Interesting you would mention that. I have a connection with someone very important in the DC area. Spent his entire life near the ocean. Late last year, out of the blue, he bought a 'vacation' place in Montana! Out of the blue he decided he wanted to take up hunting rather than spend his spare time sailing as he had his entire life. He had a very narrow escape on 9/11 so maybe he just wants to get away from everything. But Montana is very far away from the ocean. That gets me nervous. I'd be really really nervous if I heard Clinton moved to Montana. (oh, you say he bought a place in Ireland? hmmm...)
