Per FNC, Bush OK's the 9/11 commission's recommendation to appoint a National Intelligence Director and create an Anti-Terrorism office.
Another arrow removed from the enemy's arsenal.

Yea now we have an all powerful, multiple adminstration spanning intelligence czar with an national army of agents!
More like Bush bows to pressure and does something that may be ill advised. Or not. It's worth thinking about, not just rubber stamping because the 9/11 committee advised it. I think Bush is just reacting to Kerry's "let's implement it all RIGHT NOW!" and not taking the proper amount of time to decide if it makes sense or not.

Is this the right thing, or is it just a political move at our expense? It would have cost very little to hold Jamie Gorelick accountable.
I think there really has to be one person at the top instead of 15 who all want their agency to get more money and they want their agency to have the 'big get'...with one leader there is one team not 15 teams all working against each other.

No...that's more like regrouping all the first responders and getting all the agancies to talk to each other...I'm pretty sure that the "Homeland Security" is way too big to monitor properly.

More:....Cabinet level position to oversee all 15 intelligence agencies...outside the White House.
Counter intelligence Center, the director of which would report to Natonal Intelligence director.
If its a cabinet level position, then he'd need Sentate confirmation...right?
