The New York Times claims most of the info came from the computers of Al Qaeda computer geek Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan, who was arrested in Pakistan on July 13.

Are they smart enough to have back up plans?

They definitely have backup plans. That's why the cockpit voice recorder for Flight 93 included the part about ditching the plane... one of their backup plans, in case the passengers acted up or they weren't able to hit their primary target, was to simply ditch the plane and kill all on board. Killing a planeload of people was better than nothing if they couldn't hit their primary target.

The question is, do we have the Political will for it...I don't think we have. With PC running our policies, how can they possibly work?

5 Legislative Days Left Until The AWB Expires

Unless Bush caves to Kerry and Congress comes back into session. Then expect renewal to be tacked onto to whatever enabling legislation abortion gets passed.

Now *that's* my kind of paranoia! Man, I want whatever it is that you're shooting up!

No, scratch that, I'd rather just have us both stay sober.

The good news is that if they're looking at an attack similar to the original world trade center bombing, their capabilities are severely diminished from what they had on 9/11.

That depends on what sort of "toys" they have to play with now. If they have to go with an LPG boosted ANFO bomb, then yes, but there are other possibilities. The least of which is a truck full of SEMTEX or similar from Saddam's stock.

All employees that wish to help with the security of themselves, their company and their country will be provided with the personal weapon of their choice, training and paperwork to allow for legal carrying of said weapon, time off for weekly training, and free ammunition.

I'd be happy if they just let us carry what we provide ourselves. The free ammo would be nice of course, plus provision for range time for free as well. But I'd settle for after hours practice. Where I work is large enough that a few hours with a bull dozer could gin up a some berms for a range, although I believe there is a range of sorts on the other side of the property, but it's stictly for "experimental" purposes. Or as long as it's not raining, we could shoot inside the runoff catchment basins they've recently installed, those would make good backstops as well. Although I'd need a longer range for my "battle"/"sniper" rifle.

Just a heavy doze of skepticism concerning politicians, brought on by old age.
