I think that during the convention Edwards was a flop--he's too gooey...Kerry's film was good but the opening to his speech with the salute and the 'I'm John Kerry and I'm reporting for duty' exposed him as a major dweeb...no one in their right mind would feel confident with these 2 jerks in charge during the war...also saw part of the Chris Wallace interview today...they did look like a dating couple...LOL!

Anybody that watched the convention could readily understand the Kerry drop in the polls. Clowns appeal to the youngsters but have little attraction after the first few minutes to older folk. The spectacle of so many trying so hard to make asses of themselves was a sight to behold.

In other words, if the democrats really do get out the vote, they will lose?

There's something even bigger here, as I see it. All of the media (broadcast news, entertainment, print) have been at a full gallop (pun intended) in promoting kerry and edwards. They have selectively been applauding and praising kerry while presenting only negative items about our great wartime President George Bush, and they have been doing this at apparently unprecedented magnitudes and frequency. (You all knew this.)

My point? Media influence - it's vanishing! These polls are telling us that. We the people are becoming wise and jaded to the shrill rhetoric, name calling, and leftward bias, and we are much more suspicious of lies and deceit. What's more, the media can't regain respect by just printing a few complimentary articles about Dubya once the election is over. Once distrust is earned, it's almost impossible to get back.

Curiously, they still continue. Clearly, the media don't get the message that the more they flog their hateful and biased rhetoric, the less we believe and respect them. And, the fall from grace is almost permanent.

Just wait for the Olympics. After 17 days of sports diversions, people will forget there ever was a DemocRAT convention. Of course if the Olympics are marred by terrorism, it won't help Kerry.

Kerry goes from Hero to Zero

They spent the entire Convention pumping up his 4 months of military service in Vietnam some 34 years ago and then eventually when he made his grand entrance to accept the nomination it became patently clear that that was it...

..He spent 4 months of military service in Vietnam some 34 years ago...and since then...

He's done nothing!

Au contrare!
Since then, he testified before Congress and gave aid and comfort to our enemies. The VC and North Vietnamese mass-murderers loved him. Who knows how many of our airmen were tortured by captors emboldened by Kerry's treasonous, traitorous testimony and his book? And, he continues today, unrepentant.

And, he managed to marry a billionairess who is footing the bill to prop up his unprincipled, and unremarkable, campaign for the highest office in the land.

I have talk to two republican friends who are upset with Bush about the bugdet and other stuff who had plan staying home on nov but are now planning to vote for him.

I think there are quite a few Republicans like your friends. I know I've been disappointed with Bush on a number of issues (including the spending), and have occasionally felt as if I might sit it out... but then you start getting closer to the Real Deal, the election, and you realize that hey, Kerry is a freaking disaster area on legs for this country and you realize that you know what, Bush looks pretty damn good in comparison -- not perfect, but no one is, and a heck of a lot better than the alternative.

I think when it comes down to it, most of those on the Republican side griping about this policy or that spending bill signed by Bush will pull the right lever when it comes time to do so.

When are the dems going to learn to just pick a real man for the job instead of pussies

I don't know if they ever will. I think the split between the parties is really clear. If your idea of a "real man" is Alan Alda, you're a Dem. If your idea of a man is John Wayne, you're GOP.

Kerry doesn't trust Edwards on his own

That's sure true! In the interviews they did together, Kerry was always jumping in to clear up Edwards' answers. But he never made any point clearer.

I think they're just blinded by love. Of themselves and each other. They do deserve each other.
I think Elizabeth will be glad to see the end of Teresa when they lose in Nov.
