I agree. They probably do have a certain group of characteristics they are looking for, but a repeat of the "white box truck" sniper scenario is, as you point out, not helpful.

I just think it's interesting to hear them talk around a specific word - profile.

Don't feel bad. I had to look that word up every single time I used it. Worse yet, I couldn't ever find it in the dictionary because I didn't know how it was spelled.

The only way I could finally remember it was that the first four letters resemble the expletive I would always utter when I couldn't find it in the dictionary. ;-)
