BAGHDAD, Iraq

Two car bombs exploded just minutes apart outside two nearby churches in central Baghdad during Sunday evening services, injuring at least 20 people, witnesses said.

The attacks appeared to be the first targeting churches during the 15-month violent insurgency.

U.S. military officials said at least one and possible both of the blasts appeared to have been booby-trapped cars in the city's Karada neighborhood.

U.S. soldiers and Iraqi police patrolled the area as emergency workers raced to evacuate the wounded.

The first blast hit outside an Armenian church just 15 minutes into the evening service, witnesses said. The second blast hit a Catholic church about 200 yards away.

"I saw injured women and children and men, the church's glass shattered everywhere. There's glass all over the floor," said Juliette Agob, who was inside the Armenian church during the first explosion.

Massive plumes of black smoke poured into the evening sky over the city as firefighters struggled to put out the flames. U.S. helicopter gunships circled above the scene.

Firefighters and residents struggled with water hoses to put out the flames, which leapt from the front of a tan colored church and several blackened, destroyed cars.

GLOBAL JIHAD

"If a kafir person (non-believer) goes in a Muslim country, he is like a cow," explains Hamza. "Anybody can take him. That is the Islamic law...I say the reality that's in the Muslim books anyway. Whether I say it or not, it's in the books." -Muslim cleric

In November, Sheik Abu Hamza, long affiliated with Finsbury Park, was caught on film urging his followers to kill non-Muslims – particularly Americans – and to commit other acts of terrorism

As WorldNetDaily reported at the time, in a tape converted to digital files and smuggled onto the Internet, Hamza tells an audience that non-believers should be killed or sold into slavery.

"If a kafir person (non-believer) goes in a Muslim country, he is like a cow," explains Hamza. "Anybody can take him. That is the Islamic law."

"If a kafir is walking by and you catch him, he's booty," he says on one tape. "You can sell him in the market. Most of them are spies. And even if they don't do anything, if Muslims cannot take them and sell them in the market, you just kill them. It's OK."

Praising the al-Qaida bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed 224 people, Hamza adds: "If Muslims are having a war against these people, than yes, it is legitimate" to kill them. He also praised attacks against ships from non-Muslim countries: "If a ship which loses its way and comes to a Muslim land, they'll take it as booty."

In fact, the 2000 terrorist attack on the USS Cole killed, which killed 17 American sailors, has been linked to Muslim militants in Britain. But Hamza has never been charged.

When confronted with such charges, Hamza scoffs, saying he can't be accused of inciting people to commit violent acts because he's a cleric who only preaches Muslim law. "I say the reality that's in the Muslim books anyway. Whether I say it or not, it's in the books."

Despite accusations he recruits for al-Qaida, Hamza's only punishment in Britain has been a High Court order banning him from preaching at the Finsbury Park mosque. However, when the Ottawa Citizen visited the mosque recently, worshippers had his phone number handy, the newspaper reported.

Two of Hamza's devotees include failed suicide bombers Richard Reid - who tried to detonate a shoe bomb while flying from Paris to the US - and Zacharias Moussaoui, who the FBI claims was to have been the 20th hijacker in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington.

Blessed Cause

I'd call it a hate crime . . .

. . . but then the entire current war of Islamic agression is founded, fueled, and fed on hate.

Over 400 Catholic churches have been bombed, burned down and destroyed in Indonesia since 1998 by moslems; even the cathedral was bombed during Christmas eve Mass. Other parts of SAfrica have seen the same thing.

Kerry could quell these attacks

Sure, Kerry could pull all the troops out of Iraq, apologize to the "world community" and abandon Israel. That would quell a lot of attacks; the terrorists would win.

...and do a lot better then our President.

Success is not judged only by how successful the appeasement was, but rather by doing the right thing.

Muslims Massacre Hundreds of Sudanese

By Gary Lane
Chief International Correspondent

July 23, 2004
CBN.com(CBN News) - A lot of media attention has been given recently to the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan.
It is a tragedy caused by war between a radical Arab Muslim regime in Khartoum and moderate black Muslims in western Sudan.

But the media has provided little coverage to the recent atrocities Muslims have committed against Christians and Animists in South Sudan.

Kenneth Roth of Human Rights Watch, said, "They show the provision of military support to the Janjaweed, including the provision of arms..."

As Human Rights Watch unveiled documents proving Khartoum's military support of the Janjaweed militia in Darfur, another important document was released.

One that gained little media attention from the Persecution Project Foundation. It provides a partial list of recent massacre victims in the village of Akobo, the headquarters of the Presbyterian Church of Sudan.

More than 200 Sudanese, mostly Christians and Animists, were slaughtered in early May, by militias supported by the government of Sudan. Among the dead? Children as young as one and two years old.

And while the Khartoum regime is close to signing a final peace deal to end its war with southern Sudanese Christians, it is continuing its jihad against them, especially in the oil-rich region of the Upper Blue Nile.

A Shilluk man explained what happened when militiamen, accompanied by government troops, attacked his village in the middle of the night.

He said, "When they started shooting, we just ran into the river. We just jumped into the river and some of the kids did not know how to swim, and some of them just drowned."

Meanwhile in Washington, Secretary of State Colin Powell said the international community was completely dissatisfied with the security situation in Darfur. He said nothing about the recent massacre of Christians in the Upper Blue Nile.

Sudanese president Omar el-Bashir promised Powell last month he had take action to stop the Janjaweed militia from committing murders, rapes and other atrocities against the people of Darfur. Powell says Khartoum has not done enough. Possible global action may be necessary to help the more than 1 million refugees.

Some Christians in South Sudan say atrocities against them are continuing, despite numerous cease-fire agreements. They say broken promises on Darfur are more of the same, and only prove what they have known for 21 years: that the radical Islamic regime in Khartoum cannot be trusted. And they say if Washington continues to dance with devil, it is likely to eventually get burned.

You want to attackIslam and its loonies, FINE, I'm with you on that. But why do you want to antagonize Christian Mexicans and why do you seem to want to lump all brown skins as alQaeda operatives? Do you seriously not want them as allies in this global war?

You're right, they would keep attacking even if we gave in; the only level of appeasement that would please them is to become a seamless Islamic planet.
