John Kerry's heavily hyped cross-country bus tour stumbled out of the blocks yesterday, as a group of Marines publicly dissed the Vietnam War hero in the middle of a crowded restaurant.
Kerry was treating running mate Sen. John Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, to a Wendy's lunch in Newburgh, N.Y., for their 27th wedding anniversary an Edwards family tradition when the candidate approached four Marines and asked them questions.
The Marines two in uniform and two off-duty were polite but curt while chatting with Kerry, answering most of his questions with a "yes, sir" or "no, sir."
But they turned downright nasty after the Massachusetts senator thanked them "for their service" and left.
"He imposed on us and I disagree with him coming over here shaking our hands," one Marine said, adding, "I'm 100 percent against [him]."

Jacques: "Do you know who I am?"
Frankly, I'm surprised the Secret Service didn't find this Senaturd's feet sticking out of a trash can, Marine restraint, must be.
Marines know the enemy when they see it!
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent miscellaneous ping list.
Look carefully at the quote you posted. Notice that the word "him" is in brackets. That means the Marine didn't really say "him."
I'm betting that the Marine really said, "I'm 100 percent against that scum-sucking lowlife lying son of a..."
When did it become "downright nasty" to express your opinion of someone or something someone did?
Wonder if they were surprised to learn there's not much of an appetite for these two charlatans in Newburgh, NY.

EG's bracketed statement! ; )
The guy standing up doesn't look too happy either !
I think that Vietraitor was actually telling that Marine they had the same medals, to compare fruit salads...
Except, that Marine still has his own medals...
Oh, wait, Kerry does too, now, right??
On that, I would certainly agree.
On that, I would certainly agree.
The Marine sitting down looks to me like he is afraid his buddy might lose his cool. Concern for his buddy, not Grab-a$$ JohnJohn.
Jeff, I must say you had me laughing out loud, hard, with that. Sad but true.
I love FR. You're just reading along, finding out what the morally impoverished Left is doing, and out pops one of those FReeper observations that can make you lose a keyboard.
Totally ditto your comments at #20.
I get the impression from the photo and the Marines' comments after the interruption that they had a difficult time stomaching the rest of their lunch.
I do my best.
I totally agree about the seated Marine being on the lookout for his buddy rather than having one iota of regard for Kerry.
This incident reinforces my respect for our Marines (God bless them!).
I want to hear the whole story from these guys.
Notice the diners behind Kerry and the Marines? Backs turned, ho hum.
Seriously! That poor guy is counting to ten, multiple times I suspect.
If it were BJ Clinton the babe in the background would be front center.
