I have a hard time keeping up with what happens with this thing.
It seems to me there is some loop hole by which any candidate can operate in, but I'm not that good at understanding (nor remembering) what.
One syllable words work best.

RATS! I meant to have Campaign Finance reform in the title.
That's what I'm interested in.

"Scam" sums CFR up best.
"Reason for unaccountable 527s, phantom book deals and 'documentaries'" is too many syllables.
As is "idiotic".
And "mistake".
"Joke" also works.

Liberals get to fund any group they want and funnel the money to the media.....to defeat Republicans....how's that?

As I understand it, the McCain-Feingold campaign finance laws restricted so-called "soft money", large contributions coming from lobby groups and corporations to a named candidates' campaign. But, there's a loophole in that large donors to entities 'not affiliated' with a campaign, so-called 527 groups, are not restricted. The Demorats are using this as a way of funding the Kerry campaign through various special interest groups that, while not being directly affiliated with Kerry, are effectively campaigning for him. I believe two of the restrictions are that you can't actually name the candidate in ads and the organizational structure (top people) is supposed to be 'independent' of the political campaign itself; which just means that if you work for one of the 527 groups you can't also work for a political campaign.
