Here is what I sent them... ;) Your anti-American tray liners in Europe are both uncalled for and offensive. I am taking my business to Quizno's and Jimmy John's.

I guess I don't see the big deal.

If they did something to the flag, something meaningful, I would have a problem.

But, who cares about them making a fat Statue of Liberty for an ad?

A big chunk of the Subway franchises and franchise distributions in the rural mountainous south are owned by Iranians.

Sorry, I see it just as clever advertising. Taking on the fast food industry by promoting a movie that goes against it. Subway markets itself as healthy food ("look at mr former fat guy", although you can get plenty fat at subway!)

Americans ARE fat. I mean, that's pretty hard to refute; a trip to any suburban shopping mall will serve as proof. And they should lose weight and eat healthier and excersize and all that. But as long as those who want to die from their own food choices don't impose additional costs on me, I'm all for keeping the government out of their pantries and overloaded refrigerators.

However, Super-Size Me is a ridiculous film with a ridiculous premise. Read about Soso Whaley's debunking of the film here.

Frankly, a better tray liner would feature a photograph of Michael Moore asking why some Americans are such fatheads.

I've been pre-emptively boycotting Subway for years. They make positively awful sandwiches.

Using a quote from Michael Moore is not the smartest advertising ploy. (Do as I say not as I do) Some poster boy... As for Subway, they recently had outbreaks of ecoli. Eat their subs and die. As for me, I prefer In & Out.

Michael Moore quote: "The only time I have been scared/frightened for my life has been going through a McDonald's drive-thru."

HUH? This guy looks as if he goes thru the drive thru at McDonalds, Whataburger, Burger King, and Jack in the Box at least twenty times a day.

Sheesh! If they are going to quote someone on a health issue, fatass Michael Moore is not a good example.

Being against big butts and heart disease does not equate to being anti-american.
"Ami" is not derogatory in Germany, in fact it can sound slightly endearing depending on how it's said.

According to Weight Watchers Point Counter Dining Out Companion, Subway Value Meals (6 inch w/out mayo or cheese, chips, and drink) is almost same as McD's Value Meals (not supersized).

It is a misleading comment that Subway is healthier or less fattening than McDs.

McDonald's likes to threaten the little guy for using anything similar to their logo, etc. Now we shall find out if they have the guts to go after another large outfit.

I read about a man who ate a Big Mac daily since 1978 and he weighs 170.

No doubt Americans are getting too fat because of their German genes!

I can't believe Subway would do something like that, (not that many Americans are fat but to disgrace Lady Liberty). I just told my boss at Subway, that I'm quitting, not related to this though, but good timing.

While I agree that SUBWAY corporate needs some pressure, the Subways in my area are franchises.

The owners are part of our community. They donate free food to special events. Their kids play sports with my kids. Many of them are middle eastern Christians. Letters to my local paper would hurt them and their families.

Bugging corporate offices is a good idea, though.
