Ideally a president should have an impressive résumé. For the past 20 years John Kerry has been only an average senator.
In a consummately political job, the nation's chief executive should be a natural, with good political instincts. John Kerry is lacking. And a president should exude resolve and decisiveness. He hasn't always, witness his convoluted rationalizations for his votes on the Iraq war.
...
He also probably would stumble and hesitate in normal times, but then rise to the challenges of tough times. Tonight's acceptance speech will be an important test of that ability.

"I will stand up and struggle, as others have, to try to get that right balance
between violence, and sex, and things." -- John F. Kerry, reported July 26, 2004
Geez, missing 86% of Senate votes gives one an average rating? What's a guy to do to get a below average rating? Oh, wait...Federal Employeee.
Never mind.
I've heard this mentioned several times by the media.
How can a speech be an indicator of anything?
Words, just words, and as we all know "words are cheap", especially during a political convention.
Agreed! But I don't WANT tough times......
Kerry's actions really are a good indicator of his character. I did not serve with this, commie-loving -bum in Viet Nam. I would firmly believe if kerry could have disappeared from his swift boat during a fire-fight he would have(Ghosted.)Kerry is no hero, and was groomed by those in the commie party. My only question, was why Kerry's superiors did not relieve him of his swift boat command? I base this on his opportunistic and leaderless conduct? A great leader thinks of his subordinates welfare before their own. Kerry thought of kerry first, last and always. Bush/Cheney 2004
Kerry is trying to be President, running on four months of combat experience in Vietnam. He will not tell the American people how he received his three purple hearts.
I am curious. Aren't you?
He has no leadership experience, he has passed no bills in the Senate in 20 years. He will not risk his Senate seat for a run at the Presidency. He shows up for less than 25% of all votes.
Basically this guy is a POS.
NO, we need a "MAN" who IS TOUGH! We've been through TOUGH TIMES for the past 3+ years......and are coming out of those times because we have a LEADER who is TOUGH in his stance on Terrorism, the Economy, etc. Kerry is a mamby pamby flip-floppin' girlie man.
Al Hunt is such a nasty, smarmy, transparent, ignorant, arrogant, ugly, dishonest liberal. (Or did I just say the same thing seven different ways?)
Hey Al, I don't have any accomplishments, either.
But if I read a really good speech someone else writes, will you vote for me, too?
After all, I'm not W!
Dan
Gee. if Albert Hunt likes him, maybe Kerry isn't so bad.
Who's Albert Hunt?
Al Hunt is Mr. Judy Woodruff. He is one of the most rude and obnoxious liberals in the world. He's a bully too. I remember him telling Mona Charon to "shut up" on the Capitol Gang years ago. Novak just sat there.
He is the WSJ's token Lib.
John Kerry: A Man for Tough Times What? Causing them?
Does he have a brother 'Mike?'
(Sorry. That's childish.:-) )
I think he owns a fortune in ketchup.
How else will they be able to credibly declare the speech a 'HOME RUN" tomorrow than by expressing their grave concerns today?
I guess by Al's rating system if you don't show up at all you're outstanding.
A democrat POS to boot. Bush/Chney 2004
