SPEECH REACTION: MSNBC LIBERALS ALL MOCKING EDWARDS TAUNT TO AL QAEDA!
MSNBC

Edwards is getting skewered for his almost grinning taunt to AlQaeda ... Howard Fineman notes if that's the best the Dems have got then the US will decide "we need Dick Cheney". Andrea Mitchell notes that it's impossible for Edwards to say anything and come across seriously because he's so young and Scarborough cracks a joke about how AlQaeda cannot take "the Breck Girl" seriously. Meanwhile on CNN lib gal laments Edwards came across as a slick "game show host" and "Jr." by any comparison.

Frank Luntz focus group (I usually hate theses): "most of you liked some of the message but you didn't like the guy" ... what's up with that?

It tells me that all of the phony window-dressing and supposedly trying to not make this convention a Bush-Bash fest has come unraveled, and they want to sound tough and really hard a@@ instead of wimpy.

75% of the crowd looks like gubbermint employees, teachers and social workers. While they don't actually look any different than anybody else, they probably are mostly wealthy retired people who are up in the Party organization at home.

He said the same pretty much the same thing W said when we were about to go kick their arses in Afghanistan..."The terrorist can't run and can't hide. We will hunt them down and destroy them."
To which "they" all rolled their eyes and went, "Oh, pall-eese!

I saw that - flags strewn all over the floor, just shunned aside once they were no longer needed as this evening's prop.

I glad someone is watching this stuff so I do not have to. I am only listening to Rush and Savage-They do not have any liberals on to make me sick.

On FNC they cut to Carl Cameron out in the crowd and he was showing some signs that the crowd had...and he made note of...and the camera showed......how American Flags that the Dem convention goers had were just tossed on the ground. I saw that also ... and I'm not surprised they would do that

Wasn't the theme for the 2000 RNC convention "Help is on the way?" I noticed the familiarity with the "hope is on the way" placards tonight...That's about all they can offer!

If this is the case, if Edwards can't get across an impression of "heft" to the audience, Dick Cheney will eat his lunch.
I think the libs at MSNBC and CNN are finding out the downside of the Kerry decisionmaking process.
Now if Kerry had gone and picked, say, Lieberman or Evan Bayh, Bush might be in some trouble in November. He still may be. Kerry's ego couldn't handle someone as capable and experienced as he considers himself to be. That's why he didn't pick Hillary.
If your impressions align with that of the liberal media, then the Kerry ticket is in trouble. I strongly suspect that America just saw John Edwards and said "uh oh...."..

Has FNC become more liberal than it used to be when it started? All I could hear from the "panel" was how good a speech it was. I had to turn it off!

what is the point of insulting Mrs. Edwards for her weight? She is a normal-looking plump lady over fifty who had two babies in her late forties. I prefer her to a self-absorbed social x-ray who spends more hours with her trainers than her children.

Two Americas (he lives in the one he rails against), higher taxes for the most productive achievers that hold are American citizens, tax-loopholes closing (I presume that includes foreign corporations of whom John Fing Kerry is the beneficiary and avoids participating in the fraudulent communist tax system), National health care paid for supposedly by the aforementioned achievers, doubling the SFs in the military and stronger defense (snicker), joing the world community of the corrupt and corruptable again as witting participants, etc.
In short, the same communist B.S. one with a brain and a living spirit sees right through.

"Now the rest of the country is finding out what we North Carolinians have known for a while."
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!
The Breck Girl dropped out of the NC Senate campaign as it was clear he was going to lose and lose big. The other Dem primary canidates - including Kerry - made note of this.
Edwards' performance tonight was not good. It may appeal to the dem/lib/socialist base, but it will not appeal to the mainstream at all.
The very fact that the talking heads are basically mocking him tonight is early proof of that fact.
