The first question I want the moderator of the Vice-Presidential debate to ask Edwards: "You speak of two America's, Senator, would you explain to the American people which America you belong to?"

Well, to be honest, go to the website of Communism USA and you will see all their talking points and themes came from there.
There is also communist connections to big labor in unions according to the Communism USA website.
Communist China also came out for Kerry today.

The ambulance chaser did a good job speaking to the crowd but a poor job of connecting with the cameras. Still thinks he's trying to pull the wool over the eyes of a jury.

I kept thinking if kids went to bed hungry it was because the parents didn't care, were on drugs or booze. Yep! That's what I was yelling at him too!

Post #36 is spot on. I thought this speech was extremely poor.

Chris Matthews just showed a clip of Edwards saying to al Queda: "We will destroy you."
Matthews: "Pee Wee Herman threatens Lucca Brazzi."
LOL! I'm not kidding!

"Little Johnnie, show me those hungry and ill clothed children and I'll show you negligent parents. We have umpteen programs to take care of children's needs. We don't need any more."
Huzzah!! A few years ago, my first child was born with severe hydrocephalus. He was sent home to die, but my wonderful wife would not let that happen on her watch. He lasted almost a year and required a staggering amount of medical care. My wife could not work due to his needs. I was bringing home $908 per month. This was the mid-nineties, folks. We scrimped, saved, sacrificed, and, yes, bought second hand clothes. Several state and federal agencies literally begged me to take WIC, SSI, and any other alphabet soup hand out you could imagine. I wouldn't take it. I was accused of being stupid and stubborn but I stood my ground. Guess what... We always had food on our table and every bill got paid.
I even had a lady from WIC tell me that I should take the assistance even if I could afford to feed my child. I told her that if more people thought as I did and fewer beauracrats like her tried to justify their jobs, the economy wouldn't have been in such a piss poor condition. She didn't ask again...

It really is amazing ... I have known -- daresay DATED -- people that this speech was directed towards ... they had all the trappings of the middle class: tv, vcr, sound system, cable, whatever -- but needed food stamps to feed their children. I think the Democrats are appealing to a certain element of the so-called working poor who buy all the latest gadgets, run up $200 a month bills on their cell phones, are maxed out on their credit cards, have no savings and are one paycheck away from bankruptcy. A lot of people think that they are entitled to everything, that they don't need any discipline and if they mismanage their lives it is "society's" fault.
It was very telling when a speaker (I forget who) said (in the context of Social Security) that the Republicans would force people to "fend for themselves." The freedom to decide how to run your life is evidently seen as an intolerable burden that the Democrats will gladly "free" you of. Evidently abortion is the only area where one should have freedom of "choice." Against any other choice about anything else there is raised an iron curtain with barbed wire and guards telling you that everything is verboten. And people cheer at politicians promising to allow the people fewer choices in their lives.
