He's giving his 2 America's stump speech...crowd going nuts.
"and the people who go home when the clock strikes 5 pm"
Lol... hey man... some of us slackers are conservatives too.
Is it just me, or does does it strike someone that this speech hugely overrated?!
It sounds as if they are looping some old Cher song after hsi speech.
That is the most outrageous race-baiting that I have heard from a politician. Particularly a white one.
LOL
NEVER HAS SO LITTLE BEEN SAID IN SO MANY WORDS.
This was a speech of empty slogans and promises. Too weak for wartime.
I kept thinking if kids went to bed hungry it was because the parents didn't care, were on drugs or booze. Even when it was just me earning $3.50 an hour I kept my 2 boys fed, clothed out of rummage sales, and made sure they got their shots, and other medical care. That was when health ins only took care of the ER and hospital stays. Course we didn't have a phone or cable. Kids didn't have game machines or $200 sneakers.
;) I have no problem with freelance slackers ... it's the ones who believe I should finance their slacking that irk me. ;)
I salute you. You sound like a fine mother.
"Gypsies, Tramps and Democrats"?
This has been a DNC convention with commie themes.
The who philosophy of this convention has been "each according to their needs (give free stuff) each according to their ability (to be taxed up the wahzooo)."
We coul put all the speakers right next to the communist manifesto.
Rather just called Cheney a "HIT MAN"!
This was his big chance to rally Americans to the Democrat ticket, by evoking his vision of the great causes of the Democrat party and the downhome values and decent America vision he has before a national audience ready to accept him.
But he stumbled. He began by talking too fast, an error he didn't catch till almost 15 minutes into his speech.
And at the beginning he blew trying to seem earnest by letting a tinge of anger get into his discussion of problems average Americans face, rather than compassion.
The worst part was that he was thrown off stride by having to defend John Kerry, and that rang the most false.
He's evidentally been ill, not just laryngitis, and I'm floored that the Hollywood crowd couldn't figure out how to take the feverish sheen from his face, as it detracted from his ability to woo those single moms looking for a knight in shining armor.
All in all, it turned out disjointed and THANK HEAVEN it was one of the worst performances he's given. Because of that, his maturity and wisdom will be questioned, where a calm, steady and compassionate performance would have made him an incredible threat.
Edwards couldn't even handle Russert. Cheney will embarrass him. IMO
It really is amazing ... I have known -- daresay DATED -- people that this speech was directed towards ... they had all the trappings of the middle class: tv, vcr, sound system, cable, whatever -- but needed food stamps to feed their children.
Barbara Mikulski is still pissed at Cleland's loss in 2002, because she's now the shortest Senator. Or maybe Daschle is.
I tried hard. I had help, my parents gave us garden stuff, and watched the boys when school was out. A divorced mom with no child support has to learn to make do. I clipped coupons, bought all but their shoes, socks and underwear out of rummage sales. Same with my clothes.
