Kerry Camp Peeved at 'Leaked Photo'
Fox News ^ | 27 July 2004 | Fox News

BOSTON — The Kerry campaign smells a rat in the widely circulated snapshot that shows its man wrapped head-to-toe in a baby blue outfit.

"This was a leaked photo," Mary Beth Cahill (search), campaign manager for John Kerry, said an interview with FOX News on Tuesday.

No media photographers were in attendance Monday when Kerry toured a facility at the Kennedy Space Center with famed astronaut John Glenn and Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida. All the men wore anti-contamination suits (search).

Asked by FOX News' Brit Hume if a dirty trick was being played, Cahill didn't answer the question directly but said: "What do you think?"

"This was a legitimate tour of a NASA facility and this photograph came out of absolutely nowhere. We were surprised then. We aren't surprised now."

I'm sorry, but this picture is NOT funny. Kerry may be an a$$, but the "bunny suit" (that's what they are called at KSC) is standard garb for those entering the space shuttle crew module. It keeps dirt, hair, and dander out of the crew module as much as possible. So do all the SCOs (spacecraft operators) at KSC who work in the crew module every day look like idiots, too? They wear the same thing. I am ashamed of some of the posters here.

So how come Kerry's people are so upset over the photo
Are you ashamed of them for being upset over it ?

BTW That outfit Ducakis was wearing in his famous DORK tank picture was standard fare for a tank commander
But it done him in

Wash Post: Kerry Dressed for an Out-of-This-World Trip

But Kennedy Space Center spokesman Mike Rein said a video was routinely made of Kerry "as we have done for the last 40 years." He said NASA takes such footage because Kerry was in "a very confined and hazardous area" and that the pictures are always made public.

"Never happen. The 'Rats are gonna have to shoot her with a tranquilizer dart on live national TV long before she'll have a chance."

Hahahaha :) Classic. But damn, it can't be far from the truth. They probably have 10 people trying to get close to something she is drinking in order to drop some sleeping pills in so she can't make an appearance.

Ok...I am getting belly laughs here. To believe he is merely taking a tour instead of a photo op is insane. They are basically saying "We know he is a dork and no photos should be released unless we approve it." Nothing he does right now is anything but campaigning. Everyone knows why he was in Florida. These people are digging deeper and deeper holes for themselves, amen.

Leaked photos? Like these photos from earlier in the day at the Kennedy Space Center? Of course, THEY were planned photo ops unlike those taken in the blue suit. /sarcasm

When Dan Rather uses words like 'goofy,' and calls something 'silly bordering on weird,' you know it is series.

And I thought Edwards lacked gravitas...! Kerry in his jammies, or burka, or whatever the heck it is, that's going to be the Photo of the Year.

If Kerry thought doing something that is NOT a photo op was a good idea during convention week, he's even stupider than we thought. Of course this was a photo op. He just didn't realize how silly he'd look. Then once again they try to blame the Republicans, just as with the "suspicious timing" of the release of Sandy Berger's criminal activity. It's always the Big Bad Republicans' fault!

A FReeper asked if people who must wear that outfit every day look silly. Of course not. It's the idea of John Kerry putting it on and crawling around on a tour during convention week, no less, looking completely out of place in it, that's silly. He looked completely out of place, just like Dukakis did in that tank. (And *unlike* Our President in his flight suit, LOL.)
