The famously off-the-cuff Heinz Kerry is scheduled to address the delegates tonight. At the Kennedy Center, her husband violated the cardinal rule of politics getting his picture taken in a ridiculous outfit.
Visiting the space shuttle Discovery, Kerry donned dust-free overalls that made him resemble the sperm cells in Woody Allen's "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid To Ask)."
Republican operatives issued a press release featuring the photo and its predecessor the famous shot of 1988 Democratic nominee Mike Dukakis wearing an ill-fitting tank helmet.
"It's the picture worth a thousand words," said a GOP strategist as he chortled over the photo of Kerry.
But Democrats were not concerned.
"The brilliant Republicans who put George Bush in a flight suit to strut around an aircraft carrier won't get very far giving advice to NASA about the kinds of coveralls to wear," said Kerry campaign spokesman David Wade.

Now that is hilarious.... LOL!
LOL.. my vote for caption of the day!
Here's what you said -"Dukakis looked stupid in the tank - but it also highlighted or reminded people of the fact that he was a leftist who would weaken our military. He seemed laughable in the tank, but he also came across as a hypocrite and two-faced for trying to act like he'd be a tough commander-in-chief. "
A leftist who would weaken the military? Well, he always votes to cut weapons systems ( also intelligence) and oppose health care and increased pay for soldiers .
Two faced?
That fits Kerry exactly, by his record trying to take both sides of everything.
Here's a quote from Sen Lieberman (Democrat CT):
"[W]e don't need a waffler in charge of our country's future."
Sen Zell Miller (Democrat GA):
"I also think that he is very vulnerable on the issues of national security. ... [I]f you look at his voting record, it is terrible as far as it comes to national defense and helping fund a good intelligence unit."
Gov Howard Dean (Democrat VT):
"He appears to change his mind so often. ... He has this pattern, you saw it with the war, you saw it with No Child Left Behind, you see it with special interests, which I think is terribly damaging. It appears his word is no good."
Ralph Nader spokesman Kevin Zeese:
"We met with [Sen John Kerry] and his staff last week and noticed afterwards that his staff said that Iraq was not discussed, when of course it was... What I make of that is that he is very insecure about the issue because he wants the peace vote and the war vote."
Last, but not least, the democratic Senator of Massachusetts, (after he had urged Clinton in a letter to take military action against Saddam Hussein, which he later opposed after having voted for it), John Kerry himself:
"I actually DID vote for the 87 billion dollars, BEFORE I voted against it."
So, you see that description you gave of Michael Dukakis fits perfectly the person of John Kerry.
But he doesn't JUST look goofy; he flip-flops constantly!
Kerry Called For Cancellation Of Missile Defense Systems In 1984 And Has Voted Against Funding For Missile Defense At Least 53 Times Between 1985 And 2000.
Kerry Then Claimed To Support Missile Defense. I support the development of an effective defense against ballistic missiles that is deployed with maximum transparency and consultation with U.S. allies and other major powers. If there is a real potential of a rogue nation firing missiles at any city in the United States, responsible leadership requires that we make our best, most thoughtful efforts to defend against that threat. The same is true of accidental launch. If it were to happen, no leader could ever explain not having chosen to defend against the disaster when doing so made sense.
AND AGAIN, John Kerry (Democrat MA):
Questioned John Edwards Lack Of Experience- too inexperienced to be President.
Kerry Mocked Edwards Ambitious Nature After Only One Term In Elective Office.
Kerry Said Now Is Not The Time For On-The-Job Training.
Kerry Said, "In the Senate four years - and that is the full extent of (Edward's) public life - no international experience, no military experience..."
Then what does Kerry do- he nominates this guy to be his vice president!
So, yeah, he is just like Dukakis, but actually worse.
who are they kidding?? Putting Bush in the Flight Suit looked good. Putting Kerry in the Sperm Suit wasn't. This was such a "I know you are but what am I...."
FOFLMAO!
Thanks, everybody! Best laugh I've had in a long time!
#188 - Great pick of W that I haven't seen, plus some oldies but goodies!
Oh yeah, and Kerry looking like a DORK!
If you want on or off this respectful, infrequent, yet easy-on-the-eyes ping list, FReepmail me!
That Bush brush-clearing picture is TOTALLY HOT!
I would really put it up as my wallpaper, but I think hubby would get REALLY JEALOUS. I'd use it at work, but I'd never get any work done.
{Sigh} If I were a teenage girl I could make a poster and put it on my wall. Maybe I can talk the kid into putting it up on HER computer, but we might lose the boyfriend's vote for W that way.
I'll just have to keep looking for it here!
I could while away the hours,
Conferrin' with the flowers,
Consultin' with the rain.
And my head, I'd be scratchin',
While my thoughts were busy hatchin',
If I only had a brain.
Good post ntnychik. Want me to post those 'nekid' photos of Kerry's daughter and M. Moore again or are your eyes still burning??
Hey - don't call that d_ckhead a doofus. Why waste a perfectly good insult?
Here comes Johnny F'n K,
Hoppin' down the bunny way...
I just had a brainstorm. Remember when "Elf" came out last year with Will whats-his-name from Saturday Night Live as an elf?
We need someone with Photoshop to put Kerry on that poster in this outfit and rename it "Oompa Loompa"!
I think I just hurt myself!
But...didn't John Fing "flip-flop fop Kerry" fly a jet upside down over Israel.....?
My french sounds terrible. Try it with a German or Polish accent...at least W could fake it, unless he is trilingual and nobody knows the mystery harsh sounding language.
