Does Air Force One have nameless, anonymous, or mysterious Mid Easterners on board while cruising at 30,000 feet? Can you imagine the utter shock and concern of the President, his family and the Secret Service if a number of suspicious, mysterious Mid Easterners started to board Air Force One?
We all know this would never happen as the Secret Service and Homeland Security would never allow this to occur, as the safety and security of the President and his family are a priority and paramount.
My point is, why are the rest of the flying public subjected to this on a daily basis? We have all heard the endless warnings, frightening stories, and nightmare scenarios. We have even been told by the Director of Homeland Security, "We will be hit and hit hard". Yet strange, mysterious Mid Easterners, that have only been in our country a day or two, are on board our flights as I write this.
Imagine boarding a flight with you wife and kids and seeing multiple, suspicious Mid Easterners boarding the aircraft. Imagine your thoughts and concern on a long flight. In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable.
Imagine, if it happens again, and four or five or more flights are brought down killing many hundreds or thousands?
Then what? Will our government continue to carry on business as usual? At what point will the safety of the rest of Americans be a priority and a paramount concern?

Of course the fact that it makes sense won't matter to some.They'll keep inspecting 71 year old women like me.God knows what I might be carrying.

If Middle Easterners didn't have an air of mystery about them, they might be regarded by everybody else as ignorant towelheads.
I am in complete agreement with you. Now, just watch the anti-homeland security crowd scream, "but but but.....they can switch to western looking terrorists."
In the case of the 14 musicians headed for the Palm Springs area, the moslem men were acting in a wierd manner, expecially disconcerting was the activity just prior to landing. It involved the bathroom, signalling others, and involved most of them at one point or another. They spoke in Arabic and basicly drove the other passengers to distraction.
The lady who reported these events was ridiculted in the media. None the less the FBI met the men and questioned them upon arrival. So did INS officials.
Lost in all the commotion, these men's visas were expired by three weeks. None the less, they were allowed to go on their merry little way.
That story "Terror In The Skies" has been debunked.
This is a rather serious issue for many who fly. I think your attempt at humor isn't very complimentary to you.
Could you explain more about the story you say was debunked. Which story are you refering to?

A friend who comes to visit from northern California (65 year old teacher lady, red hair, blue eyes) is stopped every time for a "random search". Sounds like the profiling is against all us old American ladies, not necessarily the swarthy terrorist types who seem to have no trouble boarding planes because of political correctness.

If Norm Mineta and his family, Tom Ridhe, Condi Rice, John Ashcroft and/or the Bush twins et al would fly on airliners being screened with these standards- then it's OK for my family.
If Ashcroft Rice, Ridge and Mineta are not flying commercially to show their confidence in passenger saftey- - then it's not OK and should be fixed yesterday.
