The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

So are you saying that nukes are not in place before 911? and will be put in place later?

No. I don't know when they were put in place, or even if they have them (although I suspect they do).

All I'm saying is that they will NOT fire their biggest guns until their overall plan is in place. Their best shot may not be nuclear. If it is biological (anthrax, small pox, etc.), or chemical, we would still be hit VERY hard.

As much as we may disagree about some things privately, I have to state publicly that you are 100% right, and bring some ideas to the table that I hadn't considered. The moves in the ME are probably the biggest indicators we could have. If Pakistan were to lose Musharraf, That would be enough to start the ball elsewhere.

A little bit of fear is a good thing. Fear is our friend (just not a "best friend") as it allows us to be extra sharp and extra calm if you can manage it. The real killer is the result of fear (I'm an expert on this) and that is depression. This paralyzes and makes one grow into a fatalist. It'll make you soooo tired of the fight.

What if the "go" order was based on an event rather than a date or time? A successful assassination?

I used to think a key assassination was likely to preceed the actual attack. But they have been trying that, and failing every time. They need something they KNOW they can succeed with.

What about an attrocity committed against the Muslims? Such as blowing up the Dome of the Rock and/or the Al Aqsa Mosque?

Committing an attrocity against yourself, and then blaming your enemy, is a time honored way to justify starting a war. In this case, it would also serve to unite all of Islam behind their cause.

If the Dome of the Rock is destroyed, I'm leaving on a sudden vacation.

They've come very close to succeeding. If he wasn't such a good officer, he'd probably be gone by now. The loyalty of his troops to him may supercede their loyalty to allah, but all it takes is one on the inside.

judicial meanz, HipShot and others had a discussion on this a couple of threads ago. I think they purchased cold war era suitcase nukes from rogue elements in the CIS. These weapons were already on our soil, but not near the targets AQ thinks are vital to their goals. It's worth it to them to take the time and the effort and the planning and security needed to make this happen as they envision the event, because they are obeying the "Will of Allah" and so to their minds, they will be protected until the time of the attacks. IF they pull it off, they have reduced this nation from being a super power to a feeble piece of real estate vulnerable to occupation by all manner of ummmmm "friends" eager to offer help!

Their SOP would add a new dimension. We'd definitely need to turn off cell systems and possibly put body armor on first responders.
