The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

What on earth could possibly lead you to this conclusion? Every scrap of information gathered here and endlessly analyzed by those of us here points to the exact opposite. Did you look at the awesome compilations posted by fluters and Godzilla? The sheeple can be forgiven their ignorance of the gravity of our situation because they are not seeing what we're seeing.

True, the nuke scenario is a very worst case nightmare, so we'll leave it on a back burner just for the sake of conversation. How about 100 simultaneous Oklahoma City style bombings coupled with 100....heck even 50......911 hijackings on critical infrastructure targets? I'd say thats as bad as or worse than one or more nukes, wouldn't you agree, tmp02? Given recent Border Patrol stats on the numbers of ME flowing into the country since 911 and even prior, they have more than enough personnel inside our borders to make even those figures seem small.

I mean, you sorta make it sound like: Well, summer's over, there have been no major attacks...so let's close up shop and go home!

Let's not forget their normal MO. Homicide bombers at schools, malls, churches, hospitals, daycare centers, retirement homes. Car bombs in tunnels, on bridges, at major chokepoints.

Snipers, kidnappings, beheadings.

I'm not trying to be negative here; they have either already done these things elsewhere or have announced their intentions to do so.

I'm thinking REAL hard about nightclubs and bars. Places that they would consider to be abominations.

According to tmp02 we're almost outta the woods, but I don't think that's the case. In my case, every day is a pretty crummy day for the reasons I gave you in private. Somehow I think the quote from "Red Dawn" of Let it turn isn't quite the solution. If I wasn't deliberately and specifically seeking the guidance and love of Christ every moment of everyday, I'd be in real deep trouble. I know one thing, whatever massive event or series of events that is inexorably making it's way in our direction will be more survivable for me in the knowledge that I have this extended family here on TM that shares my worries (mostly) and my values and my faith. I love all my brothers and sisters here, and that is the difference.

All that you mention are sure to occur. I just think they will be "follow-on" attacks after the main force infrastructure attacks that will be much more horrific. These guys are so hypocritical, I wouldn't put it past them to spend thousands of dollars in a strip club like Atta and the boys before detonating the charges they are wearing in the establishment.

I really didn't let it turn into something else, it was just another aspect of the same thing. I get angry when I feel fear, and I thought that I might also force that to work for the sense of impending loss. It's almost like grief.

Brother, I'm concerned about you and yours, especially considering where you live. I know that you've got a plan. I REALLY don't like the fact that you're limited as to your direction of travel, as are your millions of neighbors.

I also know that you'll react properly and temporarily suspend all unrelated emotional considerations.

If this occurs, instead of a nuke, our government and its intelligence is useless (I know its useless anyway...). I think that they have jumped on a lot of these types of problems. I haven't heard of any large amount of explosives being stolen for 100 conventional bombs lately. After reading 911 report, I could be wrong, but they don't seem to have the smarts or resources to carry out 100 style bombings all at once. Now I think that they could use 100 OK style bombs spread over the next several decades, but not all at once.

They are hard up of suicide bombers. It was within about a year that Atta and his friend joined AQ. There were no other applicants for the job since nothing has happened since then (They don't want to keep plans out in the open for a long time because someone may accidentally tell their family member what they plan on doing, etc- final steps and detail plans are made within months). Now it is possible that suicidals may be knocking down OBL's door now since Iraq and Afghanistan, but for a major attack to occur after 911 would be a fantastic undertaking that OBL, his team, resources could not put together with all nations breathing down their neck.

Obviously we can't totally be sure until something really happens, but I am starting to change my mind. The summer is not over yet, but my fears are lessening about a nuke attack. First we heard during summer and winter. Then we heard spring (by DHS) then summer (DHS), now they are saying fall (DHS). At least we are pushing back AQ's time line, hoping that we catch more militants in the mean time. Does that mean the AQ has a plan that is ticking down? Sure, but by the time it comes to the zero hour, I hope that everything is resolved and seems to be since time lines have been sliding.

Aren't there trademark differences between goblin methodologies? There are things to watch for that may identify the source group. I'd bet they share some intelligence, at least as far as to avoid stepping on each others toes.

Well, it's like the IRA are the premiere bomb builder's in the world and they make lots of $$$ training the likes of the PLO and Hamas and even AQ.

For many years these groups all got funding from the USSR and that I suspect also coordinated the intelligence so that the operations didn't overlap or counteract each other. These days I would suspect others in the world banking community and elsewhere have filled the gaps left by the USSR. You raise an excellent point. At many levels these groups are competitors and I doubt they'd trust each other enough for direct interactions. So where are they getting coordinating intel from? The House of Saud? Unlikely, given recent attacks in that country. China? Maybe.

Perhaps this is something TM should be researching and brainstorming.

If nukes were bought before 911 by AQ in preparation for the undoing of the US and their master plan (since it would be difficult to acquire them after 911 since the US's intelligence would be peeking into every hole looking for info and would be hard to hide these purchases), wouldn't the nukes already be in place (before 911) and be triggered by this time?

No.

Nukes will not be used prematurely. Timing is just as important as the actual attack.

The Islamist plan is much bigger than just attacks on the U.S., and has been well documented. They aim to unify all of Islam, and then conquer the world. That means they will not fire their biggest guns until the rest of the pieces are in place too.

For instance, since 9/11 the Islamists have been carrying out a worldwide terror campaign against "MODERATE" Mulsims. One reason we have seen so few voices of moderation in the world of Islam is that speaking out can/will get you killed. Even in the U.S. the world of Islam has become more radical since 9/11, and this is part of their plan.

Perhaps even more important is the planned take-over of at least one of these Muslim nations: Egypt, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia. Saudia Arabia, in particular, seems ready to fall. But the "right" assassination in Egypt or Pakistan could lead to an Islamist takeover in those nations as well. Another assassination attempt was made in Pakistan today.

To sum up:
1. It seems highly unlikely that the Islamists would fire their biggest guns until their overall plan is ready.
2. The key parts of their plan may be falling in place. Saudi Arabia seems ready to fall, and Muslims around the world have moved in the radical direction. Pakistan is an assissination away from Islamist rule, and the dictator of Egypt is ailing.
3. All indicators available to us non-government types is that the plan has been set in motion. The main question seems to be when.

I guess this is a long-winded way to say I don't think that if they had 'em they'd have used 'em by now... But I think they might be getting close.

BTW: If the Islamists wanted a guaranteed way to inflame all Muslims in the entire world, they would blow up the Al Aqsa Mosque and/or the Dome of the Rock. This is easily under their control, and would be blamed on the Jews for sure. A high ranking Israeli minister has even warned recently that fundamentalist Jews could do this, thus providing all the proof the Islamists would need if something actually happens.

Inflaming the Muslims this way would provide cover for absolutely any level of attrocity the terrorists might commit. Kill the Pope? Nuke the U.S.? Biological warfare? Kill hundreds of thousands, even millions?

Attrocities on this scale would be considered no more than self defense if they were proceeded by destruction of the Dome of the Rock, and the fall of every Muslim government that did not support the terrorists would be much more likely.
