The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

I remember reading that article a few days ago. The "code" in the message to OBL was that the car was ready to go. Both ends knew that the car was a Porche 911. OBL got the message on 9/1. He knew the date Atta had chosen 10 days ahead of time.

FBI Issues Terror Warning for Calif., N.M.

WASHINGTON - The FBI (news - web sites) warned police in California and New Mexico that it received information about possible terrorist activity in their states. However, the warning wasn't specific about particular targets or a method of attack, a federal law enforcement official said Thursday.

The FBI decided to pass along the threat information but warned that it was considered unsubstantiated and uncorroborated, said the official, who spoke only on condition of anonymity.

The vague warning was distributed to authorities in California, New Mexico and some other Western states the official did not identify.

U.S. officials earlier this month warned that a regular stream of intelligence indicates al-Qaida wants to attack the United States to disrupt the upcoming elections.

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge has said the government does not have specific knowledge about where, when or how an attack might take place.

Security was extremely tight at the Democratic National Convention in Boston this week. No terrorist-related activity has been reported.

Officials Investigate Apparent Chemical Leak

Pittsburgh (KDKA) As emergency officials investigate some sort of chemical leak in northern Allegheny County, residents of West Deer Township are asked to stay inside and keep their doors and windows closed until the cloud dissipates.

Authorities say they're investigating reports of a strange cloud of fog or haze that smells like chlorine in the area around Culmerville Road in Bakerstown.

At this point, they're not yet sure what caused the leak or if it is indeed chlorine.

As a precaution, though, residents are asked to stay indoors since breathing chlorine fumes can irritate a person's throat and lungs -- causing coughing and difficulty breathing.

FBI warning now for California & New Mexico......hmmmmm both border states and an odd combination.

Plus the other border states, Arizona has been having electrical problems and illegal non Mexicans crossing the borders and who knows what else. Texas has had several arrests in the last week or so plus reports of border crossers as well.

What are we doing about this? Issuing uncorroborated reports with no information. Great!!

BORDER PATROL SUSPECTS PEOPLE WERE SMUGGLED (Detroit)

Wyandotte police are investigating an incident Wednesday that might have involved the smuggling of illegal immigrants across the Detroit River from Canada.

Witnesses called police around 11:30 a.m. to report that a yellow Polaris jet ski and a motorized inflatable raft had crossed the river and docked at the marina on DeSana Drive with what appeared to be four passengers dressed in business attire.

According to police, the jet ski was driven by a man, with a second man riding on the back of the vehicle.

Witnesses said the passenger was dropped off on the marina's dock, and the jet ski returned, towing the plastic raft that had been carrying a woman and two teens -- a boy and girl.

Once on land, witnesses told police that the group of four sat on the dock for several minutes until a gray Chevy Venture minivan drove up, let the people in and drove off. Police arrived just minutes after the vehicle drove north on Biddle Avenue.

Wyandotte police, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department Marine Unit and the U.S. Border Patrol are looking into the matter.

"We're investigating this as a likely case of illegal smuggling of Chinese immigrants," said Stan Rosas, assistant chief patrol agent for the U.S. Border Patrol. "We've got a license plate from the van, and we're going to see who owns it and see where the investigation goes from there."
