The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Vel, I noticed the "loose nukes" thing, too.

He knows something.

And the rest of us are treated like mushrooms.

"A LOT" of equipment is a pretty relative term. The movement is from South Korea and that would make it from the 2nd Infantry Division. I wouldn't be surprised to see armor assets since Korea really isn't "tank country" anyway. I wonder if the (tinfoil time!) transfer isn't really to mask a general withdrawal because we might soon have to put some nukes on North Korea and we don't want our forces exposed to fallout. Even a pullback from the DMZ would allow the use of theatre level weapons which really wouldn't be so massive in their effects, long term. Remember, we make nuclear munitions that can be fired from a cannon on the battlefield.

Good Day Kyla....the following is a follow-up from our postings yesterday regarding how the illegals are getting over the border.

Congressman Culberson is the gentleman who in conjunction with a U.S District Attorney from Texas was informing a conservative talk-radio host (Glenn Beck) about how illegals and specifically Al-Quada are crossing our borders and setting-up businesses, bank accounts, etc.

U.S. Congressman – John Culberson (R – 7th District of Texas)

Contact: Press Secretary Sarah Goldston Phone: 202-225-2571 Date: 07/15/04

Culberson Passes Amendment on Matricula Consular Cards

Congressman John Culberson (R-Texas) continued to make strides toward ending the security threat posed by illegal immigration through our Southern borders. The amendment he added to the Transportation-Treasury bill earlier today prevents the federal government from financially supporting the Matricula Consular cards in the future.

“The FBI has testified to Congress under oath that the Matricula Consular card is a completely unreliable form of identification ‘due to the non-existence of any means of verifying the true identity of the card-holder,’”

Congressman Culberson said. "The Department of Homeland Security tells us that there is a 100 per cent chance that terrorists will try to attack our country before the November election. Texas law enforcement officials have told me that they have identified a number of special interest aliens of Middle Eastern decent who have used Hispanic surnames to enter the United States undetected.”

He continued, “My amendment is aimed to protect our national security by stopping the use of this totally unreliable form of identification because it can be used by criminals to obtain driver’s licenses, bank accounts, and other services. The Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation all agree that the Matricula Consular card is unreliable and in a time of war, Congress’s highest obligation is to protect the country from another terrorist attack.”

The Matricula Consular cards were created in 1871 in order to allow foreign governments to issue identification cards to their citizens before entering the United States, but are now primarily being used by illegal immigrants.

Mexico’s Matricula Consular is the most widely distributed of these cards, but remains easy to obtain due to a lack of centralized database to coordinate those applying to receive them. As it stands, one can easily receive multiple cards, use unreliable forms of identification, or sometimes the individual in question presents no other form of identification and simply fills out the name they would like printed on the card.

Matricula Consular cards circumvent the need to present a valid passport that most legal foreign nationals use as their primary means of identification. The cards can be used to obtain US driver’s licenses in 13 states and can be used to evade detection from law enforcement. However, the immediate concern is that of terrorists obtaining these cards to perpetrate another deadly attack within our borders.

These criminal threats are significant, but it is the terrorist threat presented by the Matricula Consular that is most worrisome. Federal officials have discovered individuals from many different countries in possession of the Matricula Consular card. Most of these individuals are citizens of other Central or South American countries. However, at least one individual of Middle Eastern descent has also been arrested in possession of the Matricula Consular card. The ability of foreign nationals to use the Matricula Consular to create a well-documented, but fictitious, identity in the United States provides an opportunity for terrorists to move freely within the United States without triggering name-based watch lists that are disseminated to local police officers. It also allows them to board planes without revealing their true identity. All of these threats are in addition to the transfer of terrorist funds, mentioned earlier.

From the article:
>> Homeland Security officials say they have no intelligence that terrorists are conducting dry runs on airplanes. <<

>> officials were "very cagey" on details <<

>> Syrian singer … written about the "glorification" of suicide bombers <<

Don't know about the rest of you, but DHS is either lying through their teeth or they're dumber than dirt. Those 14 Syrians were up to no good. It could have been an actual attempt, a dry run, or just a distraction. Remember some of the imams in this country telling muslims to intentionally act suspicious to drain our resources.

>> Probably heading straight for the Iranian border... <<

Either there or the Syrian border. I bet the Iranian leaders are getting a bit nervous.

Just had a thought (and it hurt, LOL)...could be just for troop rotation. Some of our soldiers have been in theater a long time.

Mysterious package forces evacuation of Edmond PD (Oklahoma)

http://www.kfor.com/Global/story.asp?S=2105989

(snip) "It was an ordinary day at "Oklahoma Title Company" in Edmond. Stan and Donna Haffner were going through the mail when they stumbled upon an unusual, padded envelope. The envelope had no return address on the package from the Middle East."

(snip)"We all had to evacuate," said Edmond police spokeswoman Glynda Chu. "Our bomb squad was called in to take a look at it. We did X-ray the package and found it was 17 pills. The contents have since been taken to the OSBI [Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation] crime lab for analysis."

Weird.

Using FreeRepublic's search I found "dubyaweluvya" signed up on Nov. 29. 2000. After reading several of her posts and analyzing her writing style, I believe I know who she is, that is, one of the names she has been using to post on TM.

I went back over to the Red Cross (Darien) today with a copy of the map and a copy of their solicitation for post disaster workers....the woman looked appalled--took the map- I left quickly. She probably thinks I am a nut case- But why would the National office not notify the various branches of the Red Cross????
