Star Wars Episode III Title Released: Revenge of the Sith

Special Announcement: Episode III Title July 24, 2004

Starwars.com is pleased to announce that Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is the full title of the next Star Wars film, scheduled for release on May 19, 2005.

The Sith are masters of the dark side of the Force and the sworn enemies of the Jedi. They were all but exterminated by the Jedi a thousand years ago, but the evil order continued in secrecy. They operated quietly, behind the scenes, acting in pairs - a Master and an Apprentice - patiently biding their time before they could take over the galaxy. In Episode III, they'll finally exact their revenge on the Jedi.

The title was publicly revealed today in a special presentation to a packed audience of Star Wars fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. "For some time now, the naming of a new Star Wars movie has taken on some special meaning among core fans, who love to take part in guessing games before a title is announced, and then engage in debate once it is," said Steve Sansweet, Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm. "Let the debates begin."

LOL!! You got that right, neighbor! Did you ever see/meet some of those hard-core sci-fi day-vote-teas? I swear, they're right up there with people who are really into cat shows... or wicca.

Here's hoping this is not in the script (but I would not be surprised if it were):

Sith Booshii: Why are the Jedi always mean to me? It's just not fair!

Sith Chayno: Calm yourself! Or we won't be able to take over the entire universe with our MIND CONTROL MACHINE!

Sith Booshii: But I wanna kill innocent children and puppies!

Sith Chayno: You are like sand rubbed into my eyes with salt, but I cannot look away!

Sith Booshii: Just because I am wearing a thong does not mean I want you to stare at me!

Sith Chayno: I love you!

Sith Booshii: I love you!
===============

Story board for the above scene:

No way. I did see it, but she was great in that small part. The best acting in that movie was by Portman and Jude Law. It was the fartherest thing from the stiff and wooden charges often leveled at her and Christensen for their Star Wars work.

Also, Cold Mtn was a pretty good movie. I was surprised that they didn't include some PC denunciation of the South and the Confederacy. Aside from a line by Jude Law about not believing in the cause anymore and the over the top home guard, it was surprisingly Southern-friendly movie.

But anyway, I agree Christensen wasn't bad in AOTC. Its just that he could have been better if Lucas had let him be.

I tell you it all comes down to Lucas. If Lucas writes better parts and better lines and then directs with some passion then the actors would rise to meet the occasion. You can't expect them to overcome Lucas' shortcomings as both a writer and a director.

Finally, the long national nightmare is over!

OK, I'll date myself here. I remember watching the original SW movie in, what, 1977, 25 times. I thought it was magic. I bought all the books and T-shirts and fan mags.

I wanted to immigrate to Tatooine!

Can't wait for KOTOR 2 to come out. I think it will be out sometime next year.

I just can't believe people really care about this. I know they do, and I'm not trying to minimize it, it's just unfathomable to me that this is considered breaking news.

Jade Empire should also be good- it's being made by the same team that made KOTOR.

It would help if Lucas would get someone else to do his dialoge.

But, even though I liked EP II, it's still lacking in too many areas to name. I think what Lucas needs more than anyone else is someone during the creative process just to tell him 'no, that's a stupid idea' every once in a while.

Frankly, Episode I was lame, and II was even worse. My expectations for III are rather low, which is probably a good thing.
