Multnomah Cty., Ore. relaxes ID requirement for new voter registrants; No Citizenship proof needed
Multnomah County (Portland) Website ^ | July 24, 2004 | nwrep

Posted on 07/24/2004 8:56:42 AM PDT by nwrep

Multnomah County, whose seat of Government is in Portland, Ore., has recently sharply relaxed ID requirements for new registrants.

Identification is now only required if you are mailing your registration.

The only ID required if you are mailing your registration is one showing you are a resident of Multnomah County, Ore.

No social security number, passport or any other proof of your citizenship in the United States is needed.

Examples of sufficient ID are: a copy of your current, valid photo identification (such as a driver's license), or a copy of a paycheck stub, utility bill, bank statement or other government document showing your name and address.

In addition, you are allowed to register to vote if you "plan on becoming a U.S. Citizen after the registration deadline."

We need to invalidate this county's election results for anything in the state and the nation.

I don't claim to know more than you do, but the obvious answer in these times is "lawsuit." The question is, who has standing to bring it?

I let my driver's license (Ohio) expire by mistake...and not only did I have to take the whole driving test over, I had to get my original birth certificate to even get a "temporary license"...the bureau actually *confiscated* my expired license when I tried to renew it...

So...a valid and unforged driver's license or state ID card would probably be OK, in addition to a utility bill or pay stub...or maybe some proof of timely and "impending" citizenship, but not simply a pay stub and/or a "declararation" of impending citizenship!

I would definitely call your local election board, and/or your reps/senators (state and federal) and/or the Federal Election Board/Voters Rights people...and/or the Bush campaign, who apparently has a "battery" of election law experts on "stand-by" for just such shenanigans as this (they're starting early, aren't they?! good...gives you time to stop them!! do you need ID at the polling place in Nov.?)

In Ore, you do not need to go to the polls to vote. You can vote by mail!!

Dream on. Too many of their biggest donors are making too much money off of the cheap labor which is financed by tax dollars spent on free heathcare and welfare benefits for illegals. Since so many Americans don't bother to vote, maybe we can just say that the illegal alien voters are just "doing the jobs Americans won't do."

In California:

Are you a U.S. citizen? Yes No (If no, don't fill out this form.)

CA DRIVER'S LICENSE OR CA ID CARD NUMBER:When you register to vote you must provide your California driver's license or California identification number, if you have one. If you do not have a driver's license or ID card, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN). If you do not include this information you will be required to provide identification when you vote.

Neither a driver's license or SSN is proof of citizenship. Only a birth certificate or naturalization papers should qualify.

The DOJ should arrest the head of the local Elections board and charge them with conspiracy to commit vote fraud.

It is getting to the point that foreigners have more rights and privileges than US-born citizens do.

Even some of the Congresscritters in Washington, DC, are advocating changes in Presidential residency requrements and voting requirements. They are steadily opening us up to being taken over by 'outside' interests. They are flushing our sovereignty down the drain.

This Nation is being destroyed from within.

I'd love to see that happen. The only way we can nip voter fraud in the bud is to have a huge grass-roots effort to do so. People hold abortion protests, why not vote-fraud protests? At least make more people aware it happens.

Great idea. Without that county, President Bush would have carried OR in 2000. They are flaming maniacs up there.
