HEADS UP:

C-Span will re-play the President's speech to the Urban League tonight at 9:20 PM EST -- a Kerry/Edwards campaign event is on now (gag)!

Thank you, President Bush, for what you do for our country in this scary, scary time.

I trust you and your administration to keep my family safe.

Higher praise hath no man.

Hi Mike--

Thanks in advance for the great pictures! (my computer is ssslllooowwww).

I, too, thought the speech was wonderful! He's so passionate about his beliefs . . . I didn't see Kerry's speech, but I cannot believe that it was 1/1ooth as "real" as the President's. I was amazed that he barely seemed to glance at his notes. IMO, he was very smart not to speak to the NAACP. He'll have MUCH more of a chance to get thru to toehr, HOPEFULLY A LITTLE more reasonable, people.

When the president speaks it's from his heart. No posturing, no tearing down the country*

When Kerry speaks he is always angry and arrogant.
He doesn't begin to have the character to be president
or dog catcher for that matter

I thought the speech was very well received; lots of applause at all the right places. They didn't show any shots of the audience on FOX.

The Pres. teased Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson in a lighthearted way. I thought it was a good technique to acknowledge them . . . he plays chess, not checkers . . .

It was very inspirational!

BTW, Hi, Prairie! :-)

I saw a lot of it, and like some before me here have said, he did a good job. I thought he had a good rapport with the audience and that though he had some serious points to make, he also let his humor through enough to get some laughs and I thought a fair amount of applause throughout.

Thanks for the dose, Mike.

Any fair minded person in attendance today had to come away with a different opinion of the man the media and the democrats have been smearing and slandering for 3 years now. He won some people over today, I guarantee it. People like Al Shapton will never shed his victimhood and the bitterness he has for conservatives, but small business owners and aspiring entrapenoers had to be impressed with his vision for America.

There was no pandering, just an honest portrayal of what he believes will help lift up everyone and make the country a better place. I haven't seen the speech, but I listened to it, and I thought President Bush let a lot of people see what's in his heart today

Thanks for tonight's Dose, Mike. Another great day to be a Michigander!

I can't believe how often President Bush is dropping in on my state. Wish I could see him every time.

I was watching the very last part of that rally. What a pathetic sight.

People are always yelling and cheering for President Bush.

Does Kerry usually get such a weak reception? I was shocked!

I liked watching his SS guy just barely touching Kerry's shirt as opposed to the President's guys who hold onto him with both hands!

I heard excerpts of the speech and read the transcript. It was powerful and honest. I thought the audience seemed receptive. Unfortunately, on tonight's news I heard Sharpton say that his message would have resonated more if he (GWB) were not the messenger. GRRRRRRR !
