It's sad to see a family broken up over a bicycle race. Seems frivolous to me,
Bicycle Race = Occupation = income = food = children's education = etc....... Not so frivolous to me considering the millions of divorces that occur each year over less "Frivolous" things.....
Sorry to hear that you are so "Deeply Saddened".......
I suspect you are just another one of those "wanna-be's" gleefully wallowing in the personal travails of the greatest cyclist the United States has ever had. For that, I withhold my personal opinion of you and only offer you my sympathy.....

Who cares about a college fund if the father isn't there? Why get one more divorce because there are millions of divorces already?

Oh, and last but not least good Christian, on what FACTS are you basing your condemnation of lance Armstrong?

Who cares about a college fund if the father isn't there?
On what facts do you presume that Armstrong ISN'T there for his kids other than being away on business for a month unlike military fathers deployed for a year or so?
This year is likely his last successful year of gainful employment due to his age vs. occupation with the possibility of a decent income next year under the sponsorship of the Discovery Channel. What is he going to do then? Once the racing stops so do the endorsements! His livelihood, his family's support and future income depend on what he is doing TODAY! He and the other athletes of his calibre know full well what they are doing and sacrificing and it is up to their spouses to realize that. Don't forget, these women married these athletes knowing full well what their short lived jobs entail........
Since you and I have no knowledge of the circumstances surrounding his personal life, you and I have no right to cast judgment on Armstrong. But if you wish to push the envelope, then I offer the argument that his ex was merely a gold digger latching on to a professional athlete and ultimately couldn't deal with the fact that she came in second...........

Two Germans spat on Lance during the race the other day. He wasn't happy. In fact, he has a bodyguard.

Look Cyborg, this thread is no different than any Rush thread. There are people who participate on these threads who like nothing better than to see an individual who has reached the pinacle of their profession fall. Why? I don't know! I suspect that it is some variation of "penile" envy but whatever the reason, they like nothing better than to spout their unfounded hatred of that individual due to their own subconscious shortcomings rather than acknowledge the sacrifices and hard work that that particular individual had to endure to achieve his/her level of excellence........
I sometime wonder why this is considered a "conservative" forum.......

In France that is the sign of surrender. They used that sign from the trenches in 2 WWs right before Germany went through them like a rock through glass. You can tell it is a girlyman since French women braid their armpits!

And for the record, what was this thread originally about? The accomplishments of a United States cyclist being abused by the spectators in France........
Why is it that these threads ultimately turn into personal bashings of the subject individual?
Just like the Rush threads and now the Armstrong threads, as soon as they are posted i say to myself "time to grab a seat and pop the popcorn......."

I'm well aware of the spitting Germans. My only point is that someone in orange at the TdF, especially in the mountain stages, is most likely Basque and/or supporting the Basque team, Euskaltel.

What's more important...winning a bicycle race or raising my children...hmmmm, can I have time to think about that one? What's more important, breaking up your family to run an elephant paced marathon, or staying married, raising a family, and allowing your kids to bask in the glory of watching their dad, one of the greatest athletes ever, break an all-time record. What a selfish b*tch.

No excuse for dogs being ignorant bitches either - but they are all around us.

Bicycle Race = Occupation = income = food LOL--so now your contending the sixth Tour de France is just a way to put food on the table?
