Al-jazeera as most of us know is an Arabic satellite news channel that provides the world with vulgar anti-American propoganda. Did you know DishNetwork makes al-jazeera available right here in the USA? If you have DishNetwork, cancel service. If you live in a rural area and must have satellite TV, at least cancel HBO or premium packages and pay-for-view. Call your provider and TELL them of your actions. Free speech- YES! Economic boycotts of greedy enablers who provide seditionist garbage from abroad is FREE SPEECH!!

Welcome to FR.

The views expressed on any channel of DishNetwork do not reflect the position of DishNetwork. Anyway, they stuck it to CBS months ago. I got a kick out of that.

Welcome to FreeRepublic. I see you just started today, and already you are starting to troll.

Perhaps you haven't seen that annoying piece of paper that some dead white guys wrote. It's called the Constitution. If you would bother to read it, you would find that people have a right to say what they will, even idiots like you. And I have the right to tell you that you are an imbecile and a troll.

If you don't like Dishnetwork; by all means, spend your money elsewhere. However, even a child can tell you that Al Jazera is not forced upon anyone. If you wish to subscribe to various foreign channels, you have this ability and this right.

Don't you just hate it when people decide for themselves, instead of mindlessly following the rhetoric?

I have wrote Al Jeezera (if thats how you spell it) many emails about numerous articles they have written. In each one I have requested them to post my email on their website with their reply so that they can defend their point of view. Not one of my emails got answered. One of their articles requested America's appology for Abu Gharib prison, I wrote to them asking them why the Muslim world never appologized for 9/11. I told them that my point was that America was not responsible for what a few soldiers did, just like the Muslim world isn't responsible for what their minority does (that was the point of me asking why they havent appologized). Well, I wrote them on numerous occasions, not one time did they post any of my emails, or try to defend their view against me at all. Maybe its because they dont want their viewers to see my point of view, or the truth? Al Jeezera is the terrorist's form of media. They show terrorist footage of hostages, and it aides terrorist in their campaign to bring down the colition. It is a very evil network that cannot back up its own journalism.

You're nuts. I'm not going to cancel my satellite service, under any circumstances.

One could always switch to DirecTV. If it's true that al Jazeera is offered on Dish Network, you could still get your HBO.

This is ridiculous.

Do you boycott every grocery store that sells Time and Newsweek?

Do you refuse to fly an airline that has copies of the New York Times for it's passengers?

Do you allow a cable system in your house that provides CNN?

How about letting people decide for themselves what they want to see and hear. Information is power, and there is no better way to know what the other side is saying.

Al-Jazeera? Here in the United States?

You meant to say PBS, didn't you?

When I think of vulgar, anti-American propaganda, PBS usually comes to mind.

I'm certain you mean well...but IMHO there is nothing wrong with supplying AlJazeera via satellite. In fact, if it were available with the audio translated into english I would love to see what the enemy is up to.

That said, I would rather have Direct TV than dish... just seems right to spend my money with Murdoch since he gave us Fox news to enjoy...

BTW... for those living in the boonies the new WildBlue KA 2-way satellite (bent-pipe w spot beams) internet bird was launched this week and sometime after the first of the year they will start offering service... should be cool for 50$ a mo... and you will be able to get direct tv or Dish on the same rig so no need for 2 dishes. won't be as good as dsl or cable modem but it should be very close.
