Kerry's Disappearing Web Documents (FR Mentioned)

KERRY'S SUDDENLY DISAPPEARING WEB DOCUMENTS

Various Kerry Spot readers are calling attention to the fact that the Kerry web site appears to have removed the press release that used to be here:

http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/releases/pr_2004_0227a.html

But can still be seen in the Google cache here, and has been posted on the FreeRepublic.com discussion board here:

The date of the event is February 27, 2004. The event was a speech at UCLA about homeland security, mentioning port security and airline security.

Now, Kerry wouldn't need any secret documents from March 2000 to make a speech saying port and airline security should be improved in February 2004. So it's hard to buy the most sinister theories running around, that Kerry was using the classified documents to put together his homeland security policy proposals.

Unless, perhaps, the 2000 memo mentioned something about airport perimeter security and airliner's vulnerability to shoulder-fired missiles, and somehow that inspired Kerry release's plan to "increase perimeter inspections of U.S. airports and work with international aviation authorities to make sure the same standards are in place at all international airports. He will work with our allies to crackdown on the sale of shoulder-fired missiles that could be used in an attack on civilian aircraft, and are sold on the black market." But would Kerry really need a secret memo to think of that threat?

Either way, it is odd that this event appears to have been deleted from Kerry's web site.

UPDATE: Another reader wonders if the language in Kerry's speech in New Hampshire on December 17 or at UCLA is from the security memo. Well, if that could be proven, it would be pretty damning.

yonif -

There were at least two threads about this matter and because of lack of sleep, I can't remember the title of them.

If I see it, I'll ping you.

Oh, I imagine we can still scrape up a copy of Kerry's speech here or there. :-)

i think what you will see is that the Bush Campaign War Room reads FReepers and then when they see something important They alert the media. The sharpe EYES beat the loose lips and the flip flops.

I HOPE the Bush war room reads Free Republic -- they couldn't find better researchers anywhere and I've always maintained that freepers defend the administration better than the administration does!

The google cache is cleared but was saved by some Freepers. I'll try to remember who they were on the last two threads about this matter and ping them.

If Kerry has nothing to hide on the national security issue why is he hiding his report on the topic?

Now that's the best question I've heard yet regarding Kerry's potential connection to this matter.

Our very own jmstein was on with Mark Levin last evening discussing this very issue.

Levin said he would go into this story on his radio program today.

Another revelation from Levin was that Lanny Davis once wrote that when the clinton administration wanted to get damaging information out they would leak it in the most favorable light to an AP reporter named Solomon.

The Berger story was broken by an AP reporter named Solomon..................

It is clear this was leaked by the left for reasons yet unclear to us.

It is amazing how many people don't understand the digital age. Most of the Internet (Web pages) are cached. There are 'businesses' such as Google who do it automatically. There is the WaybackMachine that preserves old websites. With digital capabilities, these kinds of data can be preserved, literally, forever, with automatic backups in several locations, including off-site and off-shore.

It is almost impossible to completely 'remove' anything digital once it ever gets to the Internet. It is all preserved somewhere. For example, every email has a unique ID number and somewhere out in the nether-regions, every email is cached. (The Clinton White House discovered that when they were required to turn over some 32,000 emails to investigators.)

Wow, I posted this on jmstein7's thread yesterday:

Yes, this is quite damning. Wouldn't it be a hoot if the Kerry staffer who assisted in the crafting of this speech engaged in a bit of plagiarism coping words or phrases exactly from the snatched intelligence?

Now I'm wondering if any other speeches or portions of Kerry's website are no longer available to the public. If this speech is the only one that has been removed, the use of the word 'damning' is an incredible understatement.

Why's he claiming berger is only an 'informal' adviser, when it's been reported that he's a TOP adviser?

THIS fact is being LOST with the skerry media whores.

Sandy Berger’s Heavy Lifting NRO ^ | 7/21/04 | Byron York: The documents Berger took — each copy of the millennium report is said to be in the range of 15 to 30 pages — were highly secret. They were classified at what is known as the "code word" level, which is the government's highest tier of secrecy. Any person who is authorized to remove such documents from a special secure room is required to do so in a locked case that is handcuffed to his or her wrist.

IT IS FR POSTED, NOTE in the following he's hanoi john's CHIEF ADVISER!
