This letter to the editor of The Ithaca Journal is from the designer of costumes depicting female genitalia in which children were dressed during the recent Ithaca Festival parade. She states that this was done "to raise consciousness around the beauty and sacredness of women's genitalia."

Saving you a little work ping.
Sounds like something up Whoopie's alley.
Absolutely sickening.

The lovely & talented Ms. Wold. Presumably stretching her yoni. |
Some females have no shame whatsoever. Certain things should be kept private.
Link didn't work for me. Could you please check and repost if necessary? Thanks.
By the way, I'm assuming our "goddess" has season tickets to the V Dialogues!
OK, who has the Ithica-is-the-city-of-EVIL sign???
What's even eviler, is that if someone had dared traipse out there dressed as a male organ I bet they woulda gotten arrested.
Hug a tree... but keep spending.
Hug a vagina... but keep it exposed to the elements for exploitation, and use innocent children as illegal underage labor for pornographic promotion...
Why do these people get away with this?
This is not about free speech, this is a material stand.
Yes, you are right to an extent, since the male organ is supposed to be more exposed, and now we are feminizing men by turning them into hidden female like organs.
That said, any reproductive organ deserves to be protected from physical or political exposure like this. So what they are doing is hurting women there, more than men. Also their ultimate goal is to prevent children from being born. So the exploitation of children there (the message of innocence of the vagina yet making the child grotesque looking) at the expense of the happiness of the vagina, as a separate entity from a woman's self, is a blooming of the pro-sex and pro-abortion message.
But women should be very careful, because less women, less children, and hence what is being subsidized here is a message targeting them for extermination.
Thanks, worked fine this time.
A couple of observations from her web site:
1. She developed her theories and began offering her services "While going through major life changes in 2002 and 2003." Makes me wonder what those changes might have been.
2. The Ithaca public schools have chosen to inflict this nut job on our children. Not only has she been a substitute teacher, what's worse, she has taught "yoga for children" in the elementary schools. No doubt there was a good dose of political/spiritual indoctrination that went along with the lotus positions.
"Yoni"?? Isn't that the oily newage piano player on PBS that looks like a metrosexual Jesus?
I hate his music, too...
This story reminds me of when I was taking a college history class many moons ago. We had to read a series of essays on women's history most of which was political tripe. One of the essays we read, and I wish I could remember the title, said that women who did not enjoy the taste of their own menstrual blood where not real women. They had accepted the male stereotype of the inferior status of female genitalia. Pretty disgust stuff even to my little 17 year old mind. I thought even then that was bunk. If female genitalia was to inferior I have certainly meet a lot of men while dating who have made it their job to pursue it 24-7

Maybe some clarification is needed at this juncture. |
