Someone in the democrat higher up must have know about this for months. It is very strange that Berger was working for Kerry while Berger and other dims (Clinton?) knew this was coming out.

they are so capable of knowing what they do and do not have,

That's why I wondered about the procedures. I would assume that personnel didn't allow you directly in 'the stacks', but rather brought to you what you ordered, and then would request you sign for it.

But even if the 9/11 committee commandeered a separate room and preordered all likely documents to be placed there, you would assume that someone at the archives catalogued what was placed there, in some detail.

This happened months ago. This should have been discovered then. I wonder who the heck was in charge of this 'investigation', so-called? That might be story right there.

He did it at least twice and got the same document twice,,that disproves that this was an accident. I wonder if there was a video cam, surely there was. And I wonder how many others did the same thing? Wouldn't it be something if more people did this.

I assume that Berger already had the relevant security clearance to view such documents.

Yep, he did:

Executive Order 12958, As Amended, Classified National Security Information

PART 4--SAFEGUARDING
Sec. 4.1. General Restrictions on Access.
(a) A person may have access to classified information provided that: [snip]

(2) the person has signed an approved nondisclosure agreement; and

[snip]

(b) Every person who has met the standards for access to classified information in paragraph (a) of this section shall receive contemporaneous training on the proper safeguarding of classified information and on the criminal, civil, and administrative sanctions that may be imposed on an individual who fails to protect classified information from unauthorized disclosure.

(d) Classified information may not be removed from official premises without proper authorization.

Sec. 4.4. Access by Historical Researchers and Certain Former Government Personnel.
(a) The requirement in section 4.1(a)(3) of this order that access to classified information may be granted only to individuals who have a need-to-know the information may be waived for persons who:

[snip]

(2) previously have occupied policy-making positions to which they were appointed by the President under section 105(a)(2)(A) of title 3, United States Code, or the Vice President under 106(a)(1)(A) of title 3, United States Code

I want to know why Berger walked off with the drafts.

It appears from the reporting that he discarded (shredded) one or more of the earlier drafts, and it is ambiguous whether those were copies or originals.

It seems pretty clear he didn't want something in an early draft to go to the committee.

Look, I'm not being defensive, my client has done nothing wrong. Just because he had some bits of paper stuffed in his underwear doesn't mean anything. I'll let you know that he was doing it because he happened to be going to a night club directly after reviewing those papers. See, it's an innocent explanation, he wanted to impress a girl he was seeing, the daughter of a failed Presidential candidate with the initials WM. Maybe you should talk to him, see what he has to say.

My client wanted nothing other than a larger package, it's as simple as that and he didn't have an empty sock nearby.

So, let me get this straight. I'm supposed to believe that the NSA chief just forgot that he isn't allowed to removed classified docs from the Archives? Just how dumb do these lib/dems think we are?

From the article above: Mr. Berger and his attorney told The Associated Press that he knowingly removed handwritten notes he made by sticking them in his jacket and pants.

From NewsMax: Earlier in the day, Berger's lawyer Lanny Breuer dismissed allegations that his client had crammed the secret files into his pants and socks, calling those reports "ridiculous."

Sigh.

The only way to explain Berger and the sock incident is if he had put his socks in his trousers....from the way Kerry fondles John Boy...that would seem to be something that would be of interest to Kerry...

Additionally, I seem to recall the bitch hillary making a comment a month or so ago that Kerry would implode before the election...maybe before the convention..maybe this is the switch the bitch has thrown.

The latter scenario is far more likely. Hillary! has her sights set on '08, and she's not going to let Kerry get in the way.

The Hildabeast has her sights on '04. Nuff said.

Where are the missing files? Hillary's shredder would be a good guess. She's the one who loves to steal files. Hillary's approach never changes....lie, cheat, steal and smear but make sure the trail to the Hildabeast is not found. Remember the missing files that suddenly appeared in the map room of the White House with her fingerprints on them?

Regardless of where he placed them, he had to premeditate their removal. I hope he's sent up the river.

You are right. But I doubt he will be sent up the river. I would be surprised if this incident last into next week. The media and the dnc want this off the table and the GOP seems too timid to do anything serious about it.

Supposedly, Berger may have absconded with documents containing information on our efforts to keep our ports and airports safe. Let me remind you, one of our biggest fears is that a nuclear weapon will be smuggled in on a ship and detonated in a harbor. Such as New York Harbor. It's my understanding that we use certain types of technology to try to detect radioactive materials in ships and vehicles. All we need is for terrorists to find out what the technology is and how to beat it.

Simple: it's called overload.

Put something radioactive, but harmless, on as many ships as possible!
